The "Toyota Motor Triathlon Race Car ('04)" is the prize car for the 4WD Challenge. I took it on a top-speed test and got 193mph out of it. It's a very strange car though. The game lists no stats for it, and whatever the engine is, you can't rev it before a race starts. Also accelerates very slowly and feels like it has one giant gear. Anyone know anything more about it?
 
all i know is its a fuel cell concept, and it's a zero emissions vehicle. Its 4wd.

This multifunctional race car of the future was designed to go fast whether on a slick racetrack, bumpy city streets or a punishing off-road course. Its hydrogen fuel cells power electric motors mounted on each wheel to give the MTR the kind of power necessary to perform in a wide range of environments. An electronically controlled suspension senses the terrain and instantly adjusts ride height and shock settings for maximum performance while the "intelligent" tires also have the ability to adjust their grip for variable conditions. Both systems feed their information into a central data system that interfaced with the driver through a virtual reality helmet. I think this car sucks, and so do most of the other weird concept cars in this game. you can't use them so whats the point. you can't sell them either.
 
so if you go off the track with this car on GT4 does it react to the new grip levels like it would in real life?
 
I heard it brakes using magnets or something, in any event it's hard to steer.
 
"Gay"? Are you in Jr. High or grade-school? I only ask because most of the kids I see use that word in that context are about that age. If you're older than that, I'd recommend a dictionary or something. Or perhaps explaining why you dislike something rather than calling it "gay", which really makes absolutely...NO sense.
 
Who called it gay? I see no post with that word in it in this thread, nor do I see any edited posts. So what are you talking about?

edit: upon following the link in this thread to the OTHER thread, I saw the "gay" issue. Still, make sure your posts are going in the right thread!
 
i dont mind the toyota, but i found a vehical to beat anyones hate/anger of the toyota. Its that old audi V16 silver streamline, its not so bad but what the game lets it do is retarded. You can only use it in test drive mode and replay photo mode ON Nürburgring. A little dumb
 
hey i was wondering when driving the TMR where is the display where it shows u that the car is adjusting it height according to the road ....like it showed on the U.S version of the toyota demo where it showed the ride height of the car adjusting and the showing how much pressure is being applyed to each tire..i drove the car or NUR and saw all it on every view i coudnt find the one which show u the what the car is doing?

The answer is no. It just shows you the digital readout as though you were outside the car, even when driving from inside.

I think it was like that for the demo because it wasn't really a "demo", it was a marketing tool specifically made for customers to "test drive" the Prius.
 
Sorry about my spelling errors, it seems as soon as I became a mechanic I lost it all.

It feels like it only has one gear beacause it does ;)...

It has a CVT otherise known as a Continously Variable Transmission. They are being implemented in more and more vehicles and I think Nissan was one of the first to create one, though the one they have is honestly not all that reliable.

These days, it is really about getting efficency out of a vehicle. Not just fuel either, a balance between it and power and so on. Think of it... You can have a car sit at your HP peak so that you are getting optimal power when you need it, Or you can have the best fuel economy and so on, plus with no shift time ;)

Problem is that these transmissions really can't handle that much torque before breaking parts. Anyway, I'll leave it at that as it gets a tad bit complicated after that and I'm not the greatest at explaining things.
