Toyota has unveiled the 2015 TS040 Hybrid. It is the car tasked with defending Toyota's WEC World Manufacturers' and Drivers' Championships and perhaps most significantly with securing the company's first 24h du Mans victory.
While the car may appear similar to the 2014 car it is in fact 80% new with completely overhauled aerodynamics. It also has an updated supercapacitor with a superior power-to-weight ratio to the championship winning 2014 car and now sees the power peak at over 1000PS.
Car #1 will see World Champions Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi joined by Kazuki Nakajima who will be competing in a full WEC season for the first time.
Car #2 will have Mike Conway promoted to a full-time drive this season alongside veteran drivers Alex Wurz and Stéphane Sarrazin.
