Gonna keep it brief and simple: The needle in the speedometer bounces several times before going into 2nd and 3rd gear. I have all the tune-ups for this car and modified what I wanted to and need to know how to prevent this... if its preventable. Thanks in advance

Either change up earlier so you don't hit the rev limit or use better throttle control as your wheels are spinning.

I'm also going to move this to the settings forum

Ok I fixed that small problem by simply driving MT which is a bit repetitive with a controller. Now I need to find out how I can stop the needle from bouncing back when it reaches it's limit as oppose to just sitting there or slowly but surely gaining speed.

The only way to fix it is just to ease on the throttle or skip to 4th gear using the torque of the engine to get you up to speed.

Like mentioned by TS, you need to be light on the throttle in first if your not using TCS.
TCS would without a doubt fix your prob. If not using TCS Get light on the gas in first, "modulate the gas pedal"
upto about 39mph-45mph depending on the gearing quickly shift to second and so on.

I mean it's a fully tuned RZ with tons of TQ what do you expect, this is a real simulation Game not NFS. lol

Being Sarcastic...

Yeah lol... cranked it up to 8... slows doen the acc. a bit but it did the job and no more burning rubber. Now I just need to get the hang of this MT racing. U think driving that way is better considering i dont have a steering wheel or anything...

If you read the manual it says,"if you don't drive in MT then you will not go past 30% in the game".:scared:

Just kidding MT is the only way and the best way.👍

I guess i just answered my own question. Just came in 1st inna race i kept comin in 6th on AT. So much better on MT cuz u can slow down so quick on turns or speed or so quick. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions everyone!

Welcome to GTP 👍

Just as some advice for the future, you will drive so much better with all driving aids turned off. This gives you full control of the car all the time, which might seem hard with a high-power low-grip car like this one, but when you get used to modulating the throttle input you will never want to go back to having traction control. Even just now, you noticed that TCS does slow acceleration, particularly at start-offs - the computer steals the engine's power.
By the way, a steering wheel isn't needed at all for throttle control - I use a standard DualShock 2 (DS2) controller and find it easy to have exactly the right amount of throttle at the right time - it just takes practice. The X button isn't an on/off button, far from it :)

And manual is the only way to go ;)

Couldn't of said it better. I really got the hang of using the controller now, while driving MT... but still making up my mind on whether or not I still wanna get the Logitech Driving Force Pro. Do you have any experience in the past with it?

No, my rz does it with TCS on using the auto.

That's because you have the TCS initial set low. If you try 6, 7 or 8 1st gear will definitely rev out with no bounce.

But like Dark Elite says if you truly want to get really good at this game turn off all aids. I use the DS2 as well and have no prob controlling the throttle at any given moment. "Practice makes Perfect"

Thanks :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------Feel free to tick the red rep tick ;)

I don't have any experience with the Driving Force Pro (more often known as the DFP here) myself, as it's so expensive for my budget. But I know several people, people I often race against and talk a lot about GT4 racing, who 'converted' from DS2 to DFP driving.
The usual way of it is, as soon as you start using the DFP you will be a terrible driver. You will find it very hard to control powerful road cars, and nigh-on impossible to control race cars. Most people find it best to restart the game with the DFP, to start themselves with low-powered, easier-to-control cars. However, as you get used to the 'wheel, you will be able to get much more feel from the cars you drive, and so push them further, and so your laptimes start to fall. After a lot of practice, you will become a better driver, and soon wonder how you did without the finesse and control (not to mention realism) of the DFP.

But as I say, no personal experience here. That's the idea I've got from others I know well. I almost persuaded myself to buy one writing that

Yeah I tried DFP at my Buddy's house and oh is he right about that. I was driving the JGTC NSX and it took me about 45 min just to get back to my normal lap times and 15 more min to start lapping faster. That was my first attempt after that I was avg faster laps allot sooner than with the DS2. You get a feel of the car so much better and it's allot more fun. With the DS2 I can lap just about the same now but if I'm entering a tournament I definitely go with the DFP unless otherwise. I'm personally going to wait for theLogitech G25 cheaper or spend a little more and get the Frex Wheel It just adds more to the realism plus I can add my wheel on the frex that I have on my real road car 👍
