Toyota Supra SZ-R @ laguna seca 200

This is going to be my second race report. This will be more detailed then the last report I did. I will be breaking this race up into 3 quarters of 30 laps each. (90 lap race) This is a 113 A spec point race.

The car I will be using is black, has a flat single plane wing (black) and silver 5 spoke rays 021s. Its a very nice looking car.

Pre-race notes: This race has become my arch nemisis in GT4. There is always one car that puts up a huge fight and the rest always fall back and are not a factor. I did this race just the other night in a car that i just cant win with no matter how I try. This car was a mazda 6 touring car. I had 3-6 places by over a lap yet the shelby series one just wouldnt give up and I lost the race. I am rather angry about this... Justice will be served...

I had a hard time finding a car to get my revenge with... After I lost in the Mazda 6 touring car I did testing in a red '91 silvia with 350hp but that didnt work. I then moved to a Honda integra type R touring car. That was working well but not good enough. I then tried a yellow Nissan stagea 25t rs four s '98 with 404hp. It looked cool but didnt work either... I finaly settled on the non-turbo supra...

Now you must be asking yourself, "why would he try to serve justice in a non-turbo supra?"

Well, because I like things though. I like all-motor cars. This car has a nice power band and is very balanced. It is also lighter then the turbo model. The car I will be using in the race has been fully modified.

Specs: The car has 389hp and 335lb/ft. The car weighs in at 1232KG/2716LBS. At the start of the race it has 30,443.6 miles on it. The power to weight ratio is 3.164KG/BHP. (I think thats right)

Pracitce: In practice I set a best time of 1:31.670 on R1/R1 tires. I also have R2 and R3 tires for the race so I should have no trouble...

The field: Two dodge vipers, a GTS and an SRT-10, a Corvette grand sport, a corvette Z06 and a callaway C12.

The race:

Q1: The race starts well. I pass the C12 coming out of the andretti hairpin. The Z06 falls going into the corkscrew and the GTS falls soon after. Lap two the SRT-10 falls coming out of the hairpin. The grand sport falls coming out of the last turn. Time to start making up time for the first pit... Not a thing happens until the end of lap 18 when the corvette grand sport 7-8 seconds behind me in 2nd place pits. The viper GTS also pits behind him. This puts the viper SRT-10 into 2nd place. The C12 pits at the end of lap 19. My front tires are gone so I pit at the end of lap 20 and the viper SRT-10 takes the lead. I take R1 tires front and rear and fill the tank just slightly to 50/80. I come out of the pits in 3rd place 26 seconds behind the viper SRT-10. The SRT-10 and the Z06 pit at the end of lap 21 however and I retake the lead... This is starting to sound like a Formula One race... Nothing happening and all passing is done in the pits... The end of Lap 30 comes around and I'm 11.223 in front of the corvette grand sport. The best lap so far is 1:31.730. This brings an end to the first quarter.

Q2: Still nothing is happening... I lap the C12 coming out of the andtretti hairpin on lap 37. The corvette grand sport pits in at the end of lap 36. The viper GTS pits at the end of lap 37. I pit at the end of lap 39 and take new R1 tires and fill the tank to 47/80. I come out of the pits in 3rd just behind the Z06 13 seconds behind the viper SRT-10 that took over the lead when I pitted. The SRT-10 pits at the end of lap 41 and I move up to second place behind the Z06. I follow the Z06 around the track trying to stay in his draft up the hill and I pass him going into the corkscrew. The Z06 pits at the en of lap 42. I now have a lead of 22 seconds over the viper SRT-10. Ahhh... Just miles and miles of open track in front of me... no worries from the other cars... Listen to tha full race exhaust... The fully tuned 3 liter inline 6 sounds pretty nice. No blow off valve to mess with it... Just a nice, smoothe roar... Not to mention the nice and smoothe gear box. The car pulls nice up the hill and I'm doing about 115mph before I brake and drop it down to second gear for the corkscrew. The end of Lap 45 brings me to the half way point. I wave to the guys in the pit as i go by. Total race time so far is 1 hour 11 minutes and 42 seconds. I'm about 32 seconds in front of the SRT-10. No new lap time set yet as I'm only using about 80% of the car. I pick up the pace though and most of my laps are only a few tenths off. I have no opened my lead on the SRT-10 to 45 seconds. The corvette grand sport pits at the end of lap 55. I pit at the end of lap 58 with a nearly 55 second lead on the Z06 which has just overtaken the SRT-10. I take new R1 tires and fill the tank to 45/80 and exit the pits still in the lead. The laped C12 then pits. I still have a lead of about 24 seconds on the Z06. The end of lap 60 brings the end of the 2nd quarter. No new fast lap set. Total race time so far is 1 hour, 35 minutes and 46 seconds.

Q3: We start the last quarter of the race with the SRT-10 pitting at the end of lap 62. The Z06 pits at the end of lap 63. The Grand sport takes second place. On lap 68 I finaly set a new fast lap of 1:31.659. On lap 71 I put the C12 another lap down going into the hairpin. I run a little wide but I stay on the road and keep going. The grand sport pits on lap 74 one minute behind me. The Z06 takes over 2nd place and I put the grand sport a lap down right before he comes out of the pits. The viper GTS pits a lap latter and I lap him while he sits in the pits. I begin losing time due to my badly worn front tires and the grand sport takes his lap back on lap 78. I pit this lap and take new R1 tires and fill the tank to 45/80. I come out with a 24 second lead on the Z06. The SRT-10 pits on lap 84. The Z06 pits on lap 85. The grand sport corvette takes over 2nd position. I have nearly a one minute lead over him. Lap 90 comes around and the race is over. This brings an end to the 3rd quater. (duh)

Final results:
1st Toyota supra SZ-R '97 2:23.22.005
2nd Chevrolet corvette GRAND SPORT (C4) '96
3rd Chevrolette corvette Z06 (C5) '00
4th Dodge Viper SRT-10 '03
5th Dodge Viper GTS 99
6th Callaway C12 '03.

Best lap : 1'31.659.

After race notes: The car pulls really nice all around the track. It keeps up with the bigger V8s very well. It handles much better then the rest of the cars even with R1 extra hard tires. It wasnt as good on fuel as I would have liked but it was pretty decent. I wish the other cars had been thougher to race but it was a good race. I beat my GT4 arch nemisis. I must do this again some time with a thougher field.

After race specs are 30,643.8 miles, 366bhp and 319lb/ft. the power to weight ratio is now 3.322. The oil is changed to bring the car back up to normal. It is also washed because that slow oil change bastard got finger prints all over it...I then sell the prize GT40 race car for the large amount of money.

I'm sorry that was so boring. If you read it without stoping to go look for porn or something... WOW 👍

Erm. Aren't there 4 Quarters in a whole? Or was this an Ice Hockey match!
What you've got there are thirds! :P (or maybe the race isn't over yet! :sly: )

Thanks for the AI pit info, I'm going to add that into my thread, and you'll appear in the credits.

Hey I read both your Race Reports , well done on both of them! Could anyone tell me if the C12 is that slow compared to the field in all races it is in? It's been last in about all the Race Reports I've seen it in, is it just for Enduros or is it a bit of a walk-over in all the races?

The C12 is a rather weak car. The engine is rather lacking. If modified i think it would be a better car but i'm not speding $175,880cr for a car that needs work.

I broke it up into three quarters because if i had done four each would have been 22.5 laps and that sounds silly. 3 was easy because 30 x 3 is 90 which is the number of laps.

I have not seen the thread your talking about but you can do what ever you like with the info i post.

The interesting thing about This report is That i was doing it while i was racing. In my last report I did the report after the race was over while i watched the replay. I didnt know i was going to win this race at the begining of the report. Thats why this is more detailed as well.

Anyone have suggestions for what i should do next?

and to anyone reading this that knows me, MY GOD I DROVE A TOYOTA! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Therefore, 90 divided by 30 gives THIRDS not quarters! :dopey: (I'm teasing! :P I'll stop now! :guilty: )

Thanks:) , it's fully appreciated. I thought I might try and do some laps in that car and line it up for a race or two , but I'll find something better:)

Its not a bad car persay, but its just not a good car. Its more of a car you would use on le sarthe 2 maybe... Not something you would use on a track without long straights and lots of turns.

What's so AHHHH to it?

Toyota and Nissan have the best cars in the game and Toyota's are one of the best cars around the world.

They're pretty much the best actually,

After GM and Ford motors, Toyota is the biggest car manufacturer.

While GM and Ford have almost all makes in the world, Toyota does the job with Lexus and Scion :sly:

Cheers,

The "AHHHHHHHHHH" was because I'm a big fan of honda. Toyota and honda are like oil and water.

thanks for the compliment. I had almost forgoten about this thread and how I was thinking of doing another report...

I can't understand why "Toyota and Honda are like oil and water" .

I like all Japanese cars, even Honda, even Mitsubishi  :dopey:

Good write-up anyways 👍

I just joke around with it. I think there are some nice looking toyotas like the MR2. I only care about the rivalry on the track...
