Track cars in rally mode, black color options, etc

Hey guys, I'm new here and just wanted to share something I thought was pretty cool. If everyone already knows about it, excuse me for being the noob on the forum. Anyway, I bought GT4 probably right when it first came out, and I was too young to appreciate it because body kit customization and drifting aren't elements of the game. But now, I've grown to enjoy it quite a lot. I made some pretty good progress; I have pretty much every group C, LMP, Rally, and factory circuit prize cars, including the F1, of course. Man, that thing is incredible. It's as if you are playing a different game once you unlock that thing. It's the one car that I actually enjoy using in the mode where you see the front of the car while you drive because since it is open wheel and you never miss an apex. Awesome.

I found out this trick a little while back and never really heard of anyone discovering it. Like I said, I could be wrong. Otherwise, the odds are, you won't really figure it out, even on accident. When you go to arcade mode, no matter which type of racing you choose, or which type of car you pick, know that they are all compatible. That is, even though the game insists that they are not. i.e. "You can not use the F1 car in rally mode." Anyway, go to the car selection and choose two cars. Take the first car, which should be the car you are trying to cheat with, like the F1 car, and add it to your "favorite" car tab up top. Now, take a second car, like a Ford Mustang or some other car that no one ever uses but is dirt and track compatible and has plenty of colors to choose from. Add this one to your favorites tab. Next, go to your favorites tab and scroll over to those two cars you just picked. When you want to pick the F1 car instead of the Mustang, which is 100% of the time for most of us, but cannot choose it, this is what you do; you press the directional button on the controller the same time you press "X" to select the car. If anything, the directional button should be pressed 1 millisecond quicker. It might take a few tries, or even twenty tries if you've never done this before. But it can be done. The result? You can not only choose the car you want, but when you highlight a car with a large enough color spectrum like the Mustang and you put it next to cars with the "black" option from GT mode, via this trick, you will be able to select the black car that you weren't able to attain in GT mode. Let's be honest; not ALL of us want to go through each and every race of 132hp hatchbacks to get 100% game completion in order to get that black F1. You can get a black F1 car in arcade mode like I said, along with the black 787B, black GT-ONE, black Nissan R390, or a black R92CP and drive it on the ice or on dirt or wherever you choose.

Like I said, I hope I didn't make a fool out of myself on here. Just thought it was really cool and to those who haven't discovered this yet - enjoy.

By the way, for those who want that F1 car unlocked, I found that the easiest way to get it is to use the Mercedes CLK DTM (That's what it's called in real life, but they might not call it that on this game) on B-Spec mode. The CLK DTM, even with the biggest turbo modification, is placed in a particularly slower class. Therefore, the computer will have no chance against you. It's a great car, especially when tuned correctly.
At the end of the race, around 23:28 out of 24:00 I was in A-Spec mode just to have a little fun and I had only one lap left. I got all cocky and decided to skip the pit stop because my tires looked alright. Turns out I should've been looking at my gas instead. I had one bar left on the fuel gauge and literally finished the race with no gas. After romping on the car into the last straight, I ran out and made it as far as I could without fuel. I was cursing up a storm. I couldn't believe it. The fact that I was 28 laps ahead wouldn't even help me. I couldn't move. So I decided to try and position myself in the middle of the track so someone one hit me. The next thing I know, the Spoon Racing S2000 rammed me up to 50mph when I was then able to go for the pits. The game must not have acknowledged that I had no gas when going into the pit. They just know you are pitting and drive the car through. And of course, two meters out of the pit I passed the finish line. Talk about a close one. It's a good thing I wasn't in the sand somewhere when I ran out of fuel.
