Yea, there probably should be a sticky about layouts. I don't think anyone has really thought about it long enough to bother doing it  watch this post. I'll put up a few D1 layouts for you ;)

Ok, here they come.
Fuji D1 (Goes in this direction ----------->)

Suzuka D1 (Goes in this direction ----------->)

Tsukuba D1 (Goes in this direction <-----------)

All others are usually thought up by the creator of the comp. Such as the Indy Road H2H course

Here's a vid found by yellomello that explains the Fuji & Suzuka Layouts

That, or I don't really know what tracks is being used officially. Can we please use this thread to nominate them?

yeah but with some tracks just doing section is best are there a long straights and the best corners are in one spot.

QFT. The Madrid Reverse section is a prime example. Ive got a few other fun little sections Ive been working on rotating through my lobby. Deep Forest and Cape Ring South have some good ones.

suzuka d1 (goes in this direction ----------->)

With suzuka i would like someone's opinion on this. But to my understanding when d1 starts there drift, they have to initiate at the turn where the track go round to suzuka east. Am I correct in that? My main question is in the comps on here do they expect you to dift the big corner at the start or just start where d1 does? Cause i tried this and unless i have a 700 bhp car i don't make it and even then i am going to fast to make the next turn. Also with that a 200 bhp Huchi Roku (AE86) would run out of legs half way throught.

I was having trouble not drifting the whole long corner, even with 450hp. I think as soon as you crest the hill and you should be able to power into the drift smoothly and carry your speed. Hell, I usually overshoot the first turn of Suzuka lol, thats
probably my worst course.

im not to bad on the suzuka course but im running a 540bhp rx7 so its tail happy if any thing it got a habit of running wide due to my speed

Special Stage Route 7
I didn´t found no good image for this track, but this section helps to make this useless track became a bit usefull...

Works well only at reverse. Starts before the first lightpost after the bridge and finish after the left wall ends also. Beware for the invisible wall before the last corner.

Is this all the tracks you guys use?

These are track layouts people generally prefer to use in actual battles and competitions due to their regular use in real competitions. There are a few more set sections but I think more need to be made from other tracks now.

in my opinion, with nicely skilled drifters, Special stage route 5 is awesome, even for battling and tandeming.

This. The track is a diamond in the rough, from the first corner until the short straight is a great drift section. That track is perect all round for drifting 👍

The first corner into SSR5 is nice but the entry is woeful. The dip just before it makes for loosing so much speed, I remember in previous GT's bombing this corner as fast as the car could get there now it's like a 120mph max entry if you want consistency.

^^
i manged to drift the first corner at 130 but found my self almost touching the wall of the tunnel all the way round
