We all know that the option to enter a track meet is available for most tracks, but how many of us use them ?

Im curious because lately, i've found myself entering them more often than regular practice, and i believe its due to all the BMI and other related series videos i've watched lately, seeing more behind the scene's footage of what really goes on a Tsukuba Circuit, such as pitting for setting changes, interacting with other cars on track, and wanting to get more of that out of Gran Turismo 4.

So GTP, whats your say on Track meets in Gran Turismo 4?

By track days do you mean practice laps and Fambly Cups? :D When I first started GT4 I used to do a lot of practicing and family cup races & track meets...mostly to get used to GT4's physics engine and learn the new tracks. also, many of the old tracks have been re-done as we all know, so I did lots of practicing on old trax, too.

But now I hardly ever enter these. Oh, if I just buy a car and it's crucial that I get some settings proper, then I'll do some practicing or a Track meet or 2, but I never do Family Cups anymore. 500 credits (after all) doesn't go very far.

Ah i meant Track meets :ouch: , i've had "days" stuck in my head lately due to advancing the days searching for a certain car in the lots lately

I guess Family cups could count as a Track meet, sort of, since you have the pre-race lap where the field just cruises to the starting line.

Unless time trialing does count i gave the correct answer that i don't use the feature.

If it does count though.........Time trialing on the Nurb is my favorite hobby

Oh yeah that thing... 90% of my time on GT4 is doing track meets :D (Race Meets). I only use it so i can exploit the Slipstream...

i usually use the track meet feature to race my ford gt and pagani zonda since then i can crank up the difficulty to 10 where i race more of the top end super cars =D. It's quite fun. :)

Funny. I just did a track meet in my brand-new 1990 Fiat Panda Super! Nearly got broadsided by a giant Dodge Ram! Yikes!
