Hey everybody,

I just had a crazy idea and I'm wondering if this could be done and for how much?!?

Let's say I want to know when an object is within a half a mile radius from a certain location. I'm guessing I would have to have a reciever and some sort of a signal coming from the approaching object.

This just popped into my head and I can't stop thinking about it.
I dont know anything about the subject, just wanted to see what you guys think.

I'm sure there is a way to tell if a cell phone is in a certain Cell location, transmit that info back to the tower, and send it to your phone.

there is. New sprint PCS phones all have trackers in them that can transmit your location. It's used to find local weather and get you maps if your lost, if you call 911 and cant talk or are being kidnapped or somethign they can track you. however except for 911 all programs must ask you permission to use the tracker.
