Hi guys, i need an important advice about traction control. I’m not used to change games options, I just don’t like to explore settings, i prefer leaving everything on default. I honestly have been enjoying gt sport, but i’ve been having some troubles with some event, especially in online races, i can’t be enough competitive. I heard that it could be because of traction control, but heard different thoughts about. So my question is: can i win online races with traction control turned on, or i’ll never be competitive if i don’t turn it off?

Depends on your driving style. TC is just an aid to help you. But as with everything else, an assist will slow you down a little. What helps you corner will make you a little slower.

Thanks for the answer, i got the point, i just wanna know if i can win against people who turned it off, or they’ll be faster than me?

Unless you are one of the top players (who no doubt don't use TC) the simple answer is yes. You can win with TC 2 or lower. It is all down to how fast you are but with GTS you are mostly matched with players of similar speed to you.

You will always get awesome drivers who can modulate their throttle (ie. right foot) so that their car's power delivery is smoother than artificial traction control.

Yes you can , but it depends from the level of your opponents, with some cars I use the TCS rarely setted over "1" ..

525 races and 125 wins and I use TCS 2 on almost every RWD car. If I'm having a longer session I do the qualifying runs with TCS 0 though.

TCS helps also when someone gives you just a little bump from the side.

Yes you can, I use TCS on 3 in most cars and have gotten lap times within the top 0.5% in the world. But it does more harm on some cars than others, e.g. the Megane Gr.4 which is an FF is best with TCS 0 because TCS causes understeer on it.

It really depends on you, and you alone :). Some people benefit from using it while others are faster without it. It all depends on your ability to tame the throttle.

Personally I don´t use it because I find it more fun and challenging to drive without it. Haven´t really do any testing to see if I'm actually faster or not, it's just how I've always raced in racing games :).

You should head to time trial and do some laptime testing on different tracks, with and without TCS, and see if you gain any time or not :)
