Trading cars from GT5 and GTPSP to GT6?

If this is implemented, there should be a limit, like you have to be at a certain rate of progress to be able to so. I mean, importing a Ferrari when you start the game wouldn't be very fun.

This shouldn't be allowed.

New game, fresh start.

If you don't want to play the game and earn those cars, why bother?

I would love to be able to bring my stealth cars across as I'm such a vain idiot :P

I think trading between players and/or allowing your friends to borrow cars is a good idea to keep as it's social aspect of the game that is one of the more "friendly" things you can do in the game. Obviously there does need to be some type of limit on trading otherwise the darker side of peoples nature tends to come to the surface.

Why do you want to have cars from GT5, PSP when the already will be in GT6?
Its confirmed that all cars from GT5 will be in GT6

Because I've earned them five times before, and maybe I'd just like to get on with the racing? I don't see how me importing cars affects your gameplay experience. If you want to start with nothing, don't import. Easy.

To answer the question; nobody knows yet.

I wouldn't turn down some "loyalty rewards". Maybe the game could read your trophy collection for GT5, or the GT5 save itself, and give you the option to accept reward cars that are gifted out for various reasons (Levels, licenses, certain trophies, completion percentage, whatever).

And maybe it's just me, but I have enough self-control that even if I did accept them, they wouldn't change my progress through GT Mode. Unless PD implements something silly like the scarcity of trucks in GT5 despite the race dedicated to them.

I know that anyone can play their game like they want, and I totally respect that. But I have to ask; why the obsession with having everything from start, either credits or cars? It's something I don't understand and I feel it shortens the life of the game.

It's like people are desperate. Like if they are afraid of being left behind by other players. Relax, and feel the enjoyment of playing a new GT from start :) A new game, a new beginning.

One could in turn ask what the obsession is with artificially dragging the game out with needless grinding or hunting for cars.

Different strokes, is all 👍

Well, if they are doing a career mode like in GT5, I can definitely see your point. That's something I wouldn't want to experience ever again. But still... To each its own I guess.

That pretty much sums up the way I feel about GT in general, there are many alternatives out there for me to be bothered by GT's long and boring process of "unlocking and earning" cars. I just don't see myself doing it anymore.

For me, because I have gone through the grind of getting a good number of race cars that I would use for online racing, I would like to have the ability to use them if possible. Also there are premium cars I have paid money for via the DLC and it would be nice to have use of these cars as well. (Most of all I wish I could bring my beloved stealth cars over as I do fall back on them a lot, even though I will be buying the anniversary edition for the extra cars too)

The single player aspect of GT to many is not the "fun" part of the game, but an ends to a means. People want to race online more than they want to beat the game, which does have a lot to do with the lack lustre AI and the irritating chase the rabbit set up used.

If I'm honest, I prefer the single player aspect of the game and I think it is the most important thing before anything else. Online is something I do years after I'm done with everything else. It's fun, but I still don't find it as appealing or as a replacement for true gaming. But that's just me. I guess I have to adjust to the new times...

I didn't like importing my PSP car to find they're only usable in Arcade. Plus! It would have made sense for them to be coded for Premium. I'm not a wizard so I don't know if it works like that or not but, the pixelation looked worse when imported to GT5.

Different people use GT in different ways. I run an online racing series where it is important to have as many cars as possible in order to create a lineup for the evenings races. The more choices the better. So starting from scratch is a pain. I just hope we will be able to gift/share cars like we can in GT5.

Since you can have GT5 and GT6 installed on the same hardware, and you will be using the same user for playing both, how would the game know to which GT-game it should gift something...?

GT5 doesn't know anything about GT6, so that direction won't work.
GT6 will probably have different parts to add to the cars, so why bother with implementing a check for compatibility with GT5...?

GT6 is its own game - it doesn't need any backwards-compatibility.

Very easily, as each game has a unique ID tied to its saves. Or do you mean which user accounts - like how Chromelines show up in every user's garage in GT5, no matter the login?

It shouldn't be an issue: considering PD gets basic info on our accounts every time we log in to PSN, finding the A-Spec level, or mileage, or any other stat found in the public GT profiles shouldn't be too hard for them, nor sending out gifts through PSN based on those stats.

Nothing an update can't fix.

To give players the option of collecting a bonus for being loyal to the franchise, and investing untold hours already.

You're right though; no GT game has followed the same upgrade system as its predecessor, but that wouldn't have to stop them from gifting plain old stock versions of tuned cars in our garages; it's still a welcome boost over nothing, for those inclined.

No, but it wouldn't hurt either. Especially if it were optional.

Personally, I don't like videogames (no longer), I'm just interested in driving simulators. But the main reason is I don't have time and can't spend insane hours just for unlock few cars. It's so so boring. I just want to drive and enjoy cars I want like on PC sim. My passion is automobile, not spending time on videogames.

And If I want to start with low engines, I don't need the game encourages me to do that. And for me it's 100x times better in terms of pleasure to start a day with a low engine and finish this same day with a high engine than driving a low engine during several weeks in waiting unlocking higher engines.

I meant, if you have the "Gift"-function in GT5 or GT6, and you select one of your friends as the recipient, the game would have to know which game this friend actually has installed and then additionally ask you to which GT-iteration you want to gift it to.

It would feel a bit clumsy, and I think the benefit of leaving it out (i.e. not having to deal with any compatibility issues) is greater than the benefit it would bring to the game(s).

Having said that, I can understand that some people want to transfer their whole garage from GT5 to GT6. That makes more sense to me.

I also severely doubt there will be more updates to GT5 after GT6 release.
