Transfering Game Save between different regions

Hi everyone, Wish I had found this forum earlier. It is of great help, considering that support from SCE Asia(HK) is non-existent.

I have just bought a new regional version of GT5 (Asia version) as I was having trouble loading DLCs into my previous (US) version. I have no problem with the DLCs now. However, the PS3 system seems to be treating the two versions as 2 different games, even in the same account. There are 2 folders in my saved data utility with the same name -GT5.

It is forcing me to start at level 0 again, even though the folder with my previous save still exists, it is not defaulting to the previous game save. I have tried deleting the new game save, but it keeps creating a new level 0 game data save for me.

Is there a way to transfer all my game data (cars, credits, trophies, experience, etc.) to the new region? Thanks!

As far as I know - Game Saves are region locked.

So, in short.. no.

Oh No! I'm at level 37 with hundreds of cars. Maybe I should revert to the US version and register a PSNID in the US instead. Will that work better? I will need a fake address as I don't live there.

You would have to use the US version to access anything from your old data.

An alternative might be borrowing a negative PP X1 on your Asian GT5 and doing seasonal races, one race (~5 minutes) will get you to the maximum amount of money. You will need to buy the DLC all over again however.

Your save file is locked to your account so you'll need to use the same account the file is associated with unfortunately.
