Ok, now the facts :
GERMAN :
Am Sonntag, den 05. Februar um 16:00 Uhr startet bei Travian eine Speedrunde.

Diesmal kämpfen drei feste Teams (Römer, Gallier und Germanen) für die Dauer von
6 bis 8 Wochen um die Vorherschaft in Travian. Die Spielermenge ist auf 6000
Spieler (2000 je Volk) begrenzt.

Features:

5x höhere Rohstoffproduktion
5x schnellerer Gebäudebau
5x schnellere Truppenausbildung
5x weniger KPs pro neues Dorf
2x so schnelle Truppen

Translation :

Today at 4 pm GMT+1 a new round of travian, a speed round begins.

This time there are three teams ( Teutons, Gauls and Romans ) who fight 6 - 8 weeks for the win.
Maximum number ob players is 6000 ( 2000 for each tribe ).

Features :

resource production is 5 times as fast
building progress is 5 times as fast
troop training is 5 times as fast
culture points for a new village reached 5 times as fast ;)
troops move 2 times as fast

as before.

Ehm ok, I think that this is cool, since this addictive little game will end in a few weeks, so we can be sure not to waste too much time. Those who play travian on the other servers knwo what I mean.
It's fast, there will be a lot of action and I think we should give it a try.

Please register as

ROMAN

in NORTHWEST

as I did and for example also Dr.Strangelove.

Remember, when you chose Gaul, you will have to fight against me and I don't want that :)

Edit : ehm concerning time .... accounts can be activates in 2 houes and 57 minutes from now on ( look at the time I CHANGED my post )
Second thing : this is no international server, game language is German, but nobody will care when you just speak English imo

A couple of moderators (have) play(ed) it.

Then it's been in the wrong forum for six months, and I'm tired of looking at it no matter who's played it. And now there are two Travian threads, and this latest one has a nice big URGENT! heading in the title, all the more to grab my attention and direct it towards something I don't care at all about.

But seriously, I was only suggesting it belongs in the Gaming forum, and I'd like to know why Max DC put it in the Rumble Strip to begin with...

Anyway, carry on I guess. I'm going to start a thread about why I like Ferraris better than Lamborghinis. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it in the Rumble Strip forum long enough that I can just use the excuse of its having been there for six months as an answer to the question, "Why isn't this thread in the Cars In General forum?"

I'm having a bad day. Don't mean to offend anyone, I'm not knocking the game or anything. Must be the weather. February in Canada sucks even without the snow and ungodly temperatures. Every day is gray, gray, it just keeps getting grayer and grayer. And then one day you wake up, and it's the grayest day of all time....AND THE NEXT DAY IT'S EVEN GRAYER!
 
Ok, I'll sit this time.

Hey did anyone notice this? It takes 0:03:30 for a level 1 iron mine but when you click upgrade, it says 0:07:00?
 
I guess now even more bad things can happen once you're away to sleep / work / whatever. :P

I'll pass on that one, had a bit of an overdose this summer, but this is how it should have been in the first place. Are you guys still using the map program or someone did another one?
 
It might be tough to make a GTP alliance - you can't attack people of the same tribe.

Example - romans can't attack romans.

nd4spd - it's german but everything is in exactly the same place only the building names might give people trouble but it's only 20 words or so to learn - not a big deal.

carl - I had to abandon your map - it slowed my pc too much. humpty made a buggy one I use - it's better in that you can zoom out and change the centre of the map - it doesn't have as much village detail and you can't use it for attack planning, so......
I use the excel table alarich wrote - it's dead on to the second and v2. includes the tournament place, using the formula KEEN supplied.

This thread was marked urgent because in about 24 hours after notice of the round starting it's 90% full on a non-flexible enrollment.

Ok, good. If you ever need to use it again for some reason, the speed is most likely just a matter of compacting the database in Access (done with one click in the tools submenu), I probably forgot to set it to automatically do this each time you close it.

Well you are kind of righ in a way. As Dbartucci said the "urgent" came from the fact that I noticed the start of that round only a few hours before and I know that we have a group of travian fans here and I wanted to inform them before it's too late.
As for this thread being in rumble strip... Well the first one was in rumble strip and that's why I put the second one in here, because none of the travian fans would search or find this thread in "gaming in general". This rises up the question why the first thread was put into rumble... well actually I don't know why I didn't put in g.i.g. ;), but hey it's only one thread and I changed the title of this one now and as soon the sun comes out again in gray Canada I'm sure you can live with it :)

Back to the game : It is really a kind of new and faster experience. I ask myself however, if I'm agressive enough to be successful in this one. I'm more the diplomat kind of player which could be a total wrong way of playing this time...we'll see...
Concerning the tribes etc, I won't attack anybody from GTP, that's for sure :)

What about boom ? Did he join ? Or... did you join ? :D

I may have a triple-digit population by noon!
 
This is insanity.

I could probably match my two-plus months of progress in normal speed within two days at this wacky build rate.

Then again, I've already been attacked, too.

Of course, my turbo-cranny building left them going away with nothing.
