Trial Mountain Enduro

Hey guys, I've been reading the race reports and want to do the TM enduro.
Will it be possible in a Mi'bushi Lancer T.M.E ?
Or will it be easier in a Mustang Cobra ?
None of the cars are tuned hard, only slightly the bhp.

I know to change the oil and wash the car before the race, and thinking of running on T3's for qualifications and T2's for the race.

BTW - why is everyone so scared of the NSX ?

It's been 3 years since I really played GT3, but I believe I recall using one of the RUF's for that race and it seemed to work OK. If I remember correctly, you cannot tune cars for that race, either. My game save got wiped out, so I cannot look to see what I did, but I do remember running a long Trial Mountain race in a green RUF that was not tuned and having quite a bit of fun with it. 👍

You can probably do it in either. I ran a stock Viper GTS on T5s, pitted every 5 laps just to match the NSX (I could easily have gone another couple laps per pit), and still creamed him. I just felt like driving the Viper that day.

I wouldn't bother to qualify; start from the back for more fun. My suggestion would be to run the near-stock Mustang on T3s and pit about every 10 laps. You'll need to run consistent laps around 1':34" or 1':35".

Hey I ain't afraid of no NSX! :scared::lol: maybe in some of those older thread you read, you came across some folks that were. Nothing to be afraid of.

I've done the TME twice....once in a Mustang Cobra, and once in a Silvia. The Cobra is heavy and wears tires out faster, but it was still reasonably easy....just long. :nervous: I had more trouble in the Silvia. I think I had to restart..it couldn't keep up since we can only run it stock.

Here's a Camaro Z28

and my run in a Lancer (from nearly 6 years ago)

If you search the Write-ups forums for "Trial Mountain" you'll find a slew of race reports on it. There are multiple variations of cars and you shouldn't have a problem with a TME.

As for the NSX, it outpaces the entire rest of the field and basically trims it down to you and it racing. You both end up lapping the rest of the field by a wide margin. It's not that we're afraid of the NSX, it just makes for a less fun race.

That's the thing that I hated about GT3. It always seems like it comes down to you and one other car, with few exceptions here and there.

Ik, But I put the chip in it to raise the bhp, any way to turn it back to default? Im gonna run in the evo, for the better control

Go into the "Run and Setting" in the "Home" area. Pick a track. Go to Settings. The top bar is "Change Parts". You can remove it in there.

That's a good race. Have Fun.

Also, if your car has had any weight reductions or permanent engine mods (port polish or crank/piston balancing) that you can't remove, then your car is not considered "stock" anymore, and you won't be able to enter the TME,.

Driving an NSX against the NSX can be done, but it would make for an incredibly boring race, unless you're not very good and crash a lot or something.. It's up to newbie if he wants to be bored or not.

Weight reductions are not allowed; your car has to be stock.

I remember I did this race a few times in the Nissan Z Concept. I enjoyed it so much, I recall having an awesome battle with the NSX.

I think this race could easily be one of the best endurance races in the Gran Turismo series if you pick the right car. The circuit is just great fun and if you do pick a car which can match the competition, then the 2 hours will go by quite fast.

Bad news, my evo has weight reduction and cannot be removed, I won a camaro ss and tried out trial mountain just for fun on stock tires. The camaro was heavy and was eating its way through the tires, I has to put every 3 laps! I was running times of 1:45:xxx

So new plans:

Get some money
Make my lancer 450+ hp
Do some rally races and win rally cars
Race all the rally races and win the escudo
Then use the rubberband trick on super speedway

Thats my plans for now, might take long but it will get me somewhere

Thax for all those who helped me :)

OH DUDE. I totally forgot!!! :banghead:

YOU CAN CHANGE TIRES. Man, I'm sorry about that. Try putting some hard or super-hard tires (T2 or T1) on your Camaro if you want to go 8 or 10 laps or more. I would personally put some T4 tires on it. You'll be pitting maybe every 6 laps, but the race should be closer. It's up to you.

Ahh come on, you were just trying to make him work for it and not take the boring/easy road admit it:sly:

No seriously! I forgot you can change tires for the stock-car races (this includes the Miata endurnace, too). It's been like over a year since I played GT3, you see.

But you're probly right...GT3 Newbie is probably sitting there, munching off his normal tires as we speak!

I have done that several times to date. Oh course its not a big deal for me since most of the time all i do is drift in GT3 now anyways. Is it just the US that calls them Tires? That always got me:confused: Allot of the members here are from UK so theres some funny terms thrown around, well not funny but not what ive heard before really. Two that come to mind is Bonnet and Windscreen....here its hood and windshield....always makes me giggle a bit. But i do like calling saran wrap cling wrap so you have that one UK:)

UK, and some other places that is.

The super speedway it absolute crap !!

I've raced it 8 times and still haven't got the F1 car :scared::ouch:

Im just gonna use the rubber band trick now because Im fed up

To be honest i never beat the speedway without using the escudo and the rubber band trick. It just got really boring about 10 minutes into doing the same round and round nascar type race so rubber band it went and off to the pub i went:idea:

Trust me: this early in the game, you do not want the F1 car anyway.

I got all of them just because i wanted to have all of them. I never actually used one in a race, its not needed...way overboard. If you need an F1 car to win a race against non F1's then you need just just settle down and learn some driving lines:tup:

You guys are nuts. I enjoyed Super Speedway more than I enjoyed SSR11 enduro. It's very challenging if you enter the right car (like a Civic). The fact that it's only 2 turns doesn't matter after awhile when you're trying your best to make your tires last so that Lotus doesn't smash your lead. :nervous::scared:
