Trouble Getting IA License

I'm having problems on the final exam of the IA license.  I either always spin out with I'm on the last curb or if i don't i have to slow down and then i don't make it in time.  Can anybody give me any pointers?

instead of just doing try again exit out of the race (to the IA-8 screen and race against your ghost, every time you improve exit out so you can race aginst your last ghost.  this helps me alot.  

on IA-8, using analog gas really helps... just turn all the way and use the throttle to control the radius of your turn...  i got it on like the 3rd try using my ghost and modulating the throttle
