I see TONS of threads on people asking or making races for EVERYTHING but trucks.450pp racing,nascar,drags,honda... ect..Man up, try something different.Made a couple random truck rooms and it went well, lots of fun driving an over powered sled around a road coarse.lol.So if anybody is interested, post here AND send me an invite and put " Trucks" in the title. My psn is SAME as forum name. Thanks for looking.

I'm guessing that the lack of interest stems largely from the fact that none of the trucks available can be made to handle all that well, making clean racing that much more difficult. What youre left with is something that feels less like organised racing and more like a demolition derby.

Also, I suspect that the lack of variety also affects people's interest. You could go the one-make route, or a Ford vs Toyota series, but again the lack 'of handling remains an issue.

It's a shame that PD doesnt let you add aero or race-modify the trucks. Adding a few Camping Series trucks would've been a nice touch too. And why didnt they include the Maloo? Damn you, PD...

I think there would be interest in draft battle truck racing, if it was properly organized. (Rather than impromptu.)

From what I understand trucks on ovals are big popular in real life!
And I love a good draft battle on an oval in something other than a nascar stock car!!

I think people around here would be more likely to get involved in something they knew had CLEAR restrictions on models, limits, rules for conduct, etc. For the reasons Schadenfreude13 mentions above.
At least I know that's what catches my eye. More than just someone saying "let's race trucks"... and you really don't know what you're in for.
People around here don't have time for joining in on anything if they don't know exactly what they're getting into. Members around here are pretty spoiled I guess. ;) They want to know what they're getting. Otherwise they'd be in the pub lobbies instead.

My suggestion is that you ought to take a peek at the successful organized races, see what they have in common... and start your own.
If you start to come up with at least a rough outline with some distinct ideas, you'll get people to pitch in with help, ideas, opinions, & suggestions.

I have had several succesful rooms with clean racing on like trial mountain and leguna seca. The trucks make you think while driving. The Chevy SS and the Lightning work very well when tuned properly.Just like anyother car on here, You just have to know how to drive them.lol

i run trucks a lot in normal lobbies and do fairly well. they do take tuning (susp) to handle but will hang and win against regular cars -- cleanly.
