I think there would be interest in draft battle truck racing, if it was properly organized. (Rather than impromptu.)
From what I understand trucks on ovals are big popular in real life!
And I love a good draft battle on an oval in something other than a nascar stock car!!
I think people around here would be more likely to get involved in something they knew had CLEAR restrictions on models, limits, rules for conduct, etc. For the reasons Schadenfreude13 mentions above.
At least I know that's what catches my eye. More than just someone saying "let's race trucks"... and you really don't know what you're in for.
People around here don't have time for joining in on anything if they don't know exactly what they're getting into. Members around here are pretty spoiled I guess.
They want to know what they're getting. Otherwise they'd be in the pub lobbies instead.
My suggestion is that you ought to take a peek at the successful organized races, see what they have in common... and start your own.
If you start to come up with at least a rough outline with some distinct ideas, you'll get people to pitch in with help, ideas, opinions, & suggestions.
