Anybody bought it or played it yet?
I rented it out tonight because it's such a similar idea to GTA3 and Vice City... huge city with lots of cars to drive around it in, loads of missions to pass, people to kill....
If it's got one thing going for it, it's got a HUGE game area. It's supposedly a 3d rendition of the entire Los Angeles area. It's FAR bigger than Vice City.
I've completed the first two episodes and I have to say it's not bad at all. I don't like the aiming system, you have to hold down the weapon button for a short while to activate your target. It's awkward and takes time. But it's got lots of cool features, like being able to handcuff suspects, shoot into the air to frighten bad guys, flash your badge at people (I haven't done that yet), etc.
It's probably the game that The Getaway was meant to be. I've never played The Getaway, but I wanted to when I saw the ads for it. It seemed like the obvious game for a GTA fan to buy. Cars, guns, a huge city to explore, etc. But my brother said it was just boring and hard to play, and the reviews were hardly ecstatic so I never bothered.
I think I'll head straight to my local game shop after work on Monday and pick up a copy....
