hi :) just won the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex Shigeno Version, i've seen something about ïnitial d" (i don't know what that is) and this car with some text on it.. whats up with the car? why is it so well known? i know there something with but i don't know anything on the history on this baby, (i kept it and tuned it to max, cool sound in it =)

Initial D is an Animated japanese cartoon (also comic book, and video game) that features an AE86 (trueno). The show is based around a kid who races down hill against several other people over the course of a few seasons and in racing he also drifts. Alot of people have seen this and when they got to GT3 they found the trueno and decided they wanted to try out drifting with it. There is nothing terribly special about the stock trueno, the Shigeno that you got is a fictional model that is based on the car the creator of Initial d drives. Since he and the GT3 guys were buddies they tossed it in there. And now you know pretty much all there is. I am sure there are some inaccuracies, but that pretty much does it. :cool:

It's the best anime ever made, well it is to me at least. If you like cars than you will love this series, just make sure you watch them in order. The first season is 1st stage (26 eps), then 2nd stage (13 eps), then 3rd stage (1 big movie) And there are another 2 eps somewhere in the middle focused on some of the other characters in the story. Then there is a “battle stage”, which is just a re-cap of all the races with better CG. You can find pretty much all the eps on Kazaa.
 
yep its probably the best car to me. great tuning and technique will make this car unstoppable........if u can fix it rite and drive it rite u can beat any car ranging from 650hp and down the 700hp and up it is a little harder but it can be done..............

This marvellous car isn't know because of the series... Initial-D is like a tribute to the car that everyone loves.
Personally i thought the 86 was the best car, even before i saw initial-D, although then the car was better known as Toyota Corolla-GT. Here they use it mostly in some junior rally races.

When i saw the Corolla-GT on the first episode of initial-D, i was really amazed. I was like HEY! That's unreal!

Everyone read the description of the car on gt2 and gt3 to see some info. It's the most famous japanese car because it's cheap and it has nice power. Really the power/weight ratio is even better than the non-turbo FC:s. I recall that 86 was something like 7kg/1bhp and the non-turbo FC was 8kg/1bhp.

Agree. The Trueno is actually very well known overseas before Initial D was even aired. Trueno is one of the most popular cars used in Drifting contests overseas (Japan).

thats my main track its like akina to me.........but im willing to try other courses..........

The 86 is truly surprisingly fast and it can beat cars that have significantly higher power, but i think you're in over your head.
A pro can win even the 500+ jgtc cars with the 86, if the opponent is not skilled, but the 86 is still car, not a frikkin' rocket.
If you want to prove it, snap some screens and capture videos.

lol, i've used my 256 hp trueno S.S. with medium-slick tires against the Professional FR series in Deep Forest 2. They kik my butt on the straights, but when i hit a turn, they can't keep up. I pass a car like every other turn. sometimes they pass me again on the straights, but eventually i pull away completely. I can get up to 2nd, but the Tuscan Speed 6 has too much power =(. spent like 20 min on that race too.....pretty thrilling tho ^_^
 
the only car that might beat the Trueno is the 300 or 400 HP RX-8 because i almost beat Akina_86 with the trueno S.S but im fixing my car for next week battle again, it should go to 1:21 all the time straight, lets hope i haev a chance hahahhahaa AE86 too fast man hahahha
 
no way i retune my hachi roku it strait up garanteed 1:20's now hehe. this is an interesting battle though.

i would like to challenge anyony in our area, this is california central valley 559 area which is porterville, visalia or fresno.

The trueno SS is very fast for the amount of HP, I think it might be considered a racecar though. I wonder if the motor sport Elise can keep up at the same hp. I’m going to go try it.
 
hey i can tell u the cars that can keep up but it requirse alot of skill to control them.

MR2 GT-S, Elise, ZZS, RX8, Imprezza 22B, Lancer evo 5,

well those are the only cars that can keep up with my ghost trueno on trial mountain. but i have never defeated my ghost trueno with those cars though.

all those cars run under 1:22's on trial mountain too
but best i can get then is 1:20:7's. the trueno is my only car below 600hp that broke 20's but i havent really drove the RX-8 yet. ive only experienced it running against night drifter. he is fast though and improving.

The only problem in earning the RX-8 in GT3 is you have to get a gold license. Isn't there a game shark code to have it available at once?
