OK.. update, I went with the second seat for three reasons
1. they were local and said I could come and pickup, he didn't charge me shipping.
2. he had the g25 adapter available (I couldn't find it for the first seat) although I don't have the g25 I plan to get it soon.
3. it didn't have that bar in the middle.
So here's my review of that GTRX seat by GTRevolution.
First these guys were super nice.. It turned out we know alot of mutual people in the Street compact import community around here and I spent an hour chatting with them about cars, turbos, parts, etc. Their shop is actually a race shop and garage.
The box came with simple instructions with a small tool to help put it together. it took me about an hour but that was because I has some complications (read below).
The product is made in China so if you don't have a problem with that its decently priced.
Being that it was made in China the steel isn't the highest quality but sturdy enough for what I'm doing (so far) main problem was two pieces that should have fit perfect had some issues (the holes did not line up right for the bolts to go thru. But since it wasn't the toughest steel I was able to dremel and file the opening a bit to make it line up. Also some of the bars will bend if you tighten too much.
Another flaw was the nuts that hold the seat down were the wrong size. again I had to go into my garage and dig up some larger size nuts in my box of spare parts, etc.,
Finally the plastic on one of the seat knobs to adjust the back of the racing style seats poped off.. I was able to snap it back but it again shows the china quality.
I was a bit nervous after putting it together.. it took over an hour because of looking for extra nuts and having to slightly open a couple of holes with the dremel to get the holes to line up for two bolts.
After I put it together i was pleasantly suprised to see actually how sturdy it was. The seat and entire stucture does not woble at all. The chair can recline all the way back and slides back and forth enough for me to put my son in and drive on my lap and its pretty comfortable.
My wheel pedals required some double sided tape which was included to keep it down on the Foot plate.
The steering mount is pretty sturdy still considering there is no bar holding it. There is a little bit of flex up and down if you try to push down but nothing that affects driving since your not actually pushing down on it when steering.
All in all its not bad... I was a little fustrated with the assembly but so far its comfortable and pretty solid with no wobling.. I'm 5'11 & 200lbs. It also comes with a mat to keep from scratching your floor.
Hope thats enough info.. I'm pretty happy with it.
Thanks.
