Trying to win the "All Stars" race series

Hello all. I have reached the All Stars race series in the Pro league. Except for the formula fords I can't find one single car to keep up with thos guys. Is there a sure bet out there for car/setup to be competitve? Any help would be great.

To be honest, if you can only beat them with the F1 cars, you need to go back to the basics and practice...you should be able to use a car that the AI is using and win, even if you do a couple of mods to it...

Hello, BG, and welcome to GTPlanet. Enjoy your stay with us.

I used a bone-stock 787B on T5 Medium tires. My smallest margin of victory (MOV) was +5.high" at Rome, where I was lapping in the 1':14.high" range. My largest MOV other than the Test Course was +1':28.low" at Grand Valley, where I was lapping in the 1':41.low" range. I didn't qualify for any races.

I hope this helps as a comparison. Where are you having the most trouble? With more information we can give better answers.

My problems seem to be mostly with the setup. The cars that start the Laguna race against me are all GT types. And even though I can stay with them in the corners they all kill me on the straights. So I think it's my gearing or something. So let's jsut say the Viper racecar, for instance. Can you help me with the correct gear settings for that so I can blow em out on the straights?

Good as the Oreca Viper is, you may have trouble keeping up in it. The prototype cars you're up against have more power, less weight, and better downforce. But we'll give it a shot using what's known as the 'gear trick' or the 'tranny trick'. What this does is give you a very tight gear spacing, but it exploits an oddity in the way the game calculates the 'autoset' in order to give you the best acceleration you can get.

Start with the Autoset somewhere in the middle, or else this won't work.

First, set the Final Drive to it's highest (also known as 'shortest') setting, all the way to the right. Use the R1 or R2 button to get there faster.

Second, move the Autoset slider all the way to the left, for the tightest gear spacing, while leaving the FD all the way right. After this you will never adjust the Autoset again; leave it all the way left.

Third, without touching the Autoset again, bring the final drive back down to approximately where it was, or maybe a little to the right (shorter, for better acceleration). Head out for the track and take some test laps.

What you're shooting for is to have the car top out at redline just before you reach the braking point of the longest straight. This means you'll have the best acceleration all the way round the track, without costing yourself top end on the straights. If your first setting is too short, and you hit the rev limiter in top gear before you get to the end of the long straight, make the final drive a little taller by adjusting it to the left (lower numbers). If it's too tall, and you never reach the rev limiter, then shorten it by adjusting the final drive to the right until you get it dialed in with the car just hitting redline at the end of fastest section of the track.

This will give you the best gearing you can get. If that's not enough, you'll have to add power. Good luck!

Gillet? If you have an F1 car you most likely have a Gillet. I always thought the Gillet was great for pro races. It's so light, the tyre wear is nice and low.

Hi Bimmer! A good car to use on the Pro All Stars Races Series would be the Mazda 787B. Do an oil change and that will give it 711HP, then try these settings:
Using Medium tires :
Spring rate: 16.4f/14.8r
Ride height: 68f/r
Shock bound: 3f/r
" " Rebound: 10f/r
Camber angle: 6.2f/5.0r
Toe angle: -1.5f/-0.5r
Stabilizers: 7f/r
Brake balance: 23f/24r
Limited slip Initial: 6
" " " " " Accel: 34
" " " " " Decel: 16
Gear ratio: Level 40
Final: 3.800
Down force: .94f/118r
ASM: 6
TCS: 5
These settings should be good for all races, except @ Test Course, where the only thing you want to do is: lower the f/r downforce to it's minimum. Don't forget to re-set it prior to the next race!
Also, you will need to PIT in all the races, at about the 9th/10th lap, except at Test Course, no pit needed, just be smooth on the turns. Don't worry about the tires ...when they start to turn red. :nervous:
BTW: If you want to make it easier on yourself, when you enter the Series, enter the race only when you don't see any of the top cars on list.(R390, GT1, 787B) you simply exit the series and then, re-enter, and continue doing so, untill you only see the XJ220 race car, Altezza LM, Esperante GTR1, Impreza LM, S2000 LM, in other words, none of the real competition
However, keep in mind, that everytime you enter and then exit a race, it will add one day to your "day counter"!Good luck! 👍
