Ok I have done this race 100 times with my Bob; despite being level 11 now (i have gained 3 levels off this race alone; my bob even beat the clubman races and got a gold; yet with this 1 race (i got gold on the other 2 with him) he just can't win!

Why is there 340 HP bmw M3's in this race anyhow? this is beginner I thought! that seems to be the 1 car that's always at first; it or the shelby super charged '03.

Now, I don't let bob touch my premium cars (those are mine), Bob though get's all my standard cars. But I got so mad I eventually let him drive my

Chevy Camero Z28 '69 = 406HP/6700rpm * 1301 kg * 513 pp w/fixed sports kit.

and he lost... took 5th, despite this car having 60 more HP, and weighing 200 kg's less then the BMW.

In fact, the only car I have that he does the best is my

Buick Special = 616HP/5600rpm * 1254 kg * 555 pp w/fixed sports kit

With that baby he can land 2nd; now he just keeps up with all the corners; but with that 1 big straight away he will pass his way up to first. Then he loses it as soon as that corner is over.

I tried everything, usually I keep him in the hot temperature because he doesn't mess up at level 10, in fact he ends up just driving to slow IMO if he's not in the hot tempurature. He seems to do better at least. Then everytime that straight comes i tell him to over take.

I don't know what to do; I apparently need to modify one of my cars (i have 30), or buy a new one.

What do you guys think? should I buy a better suspension for the Buick Special? or my camero since I use that vehical anyways ( I like to keep vechicals seperate and it feels like cheating lol).

Or should I strap a supercharger on the buick, because that would put him at 680ish HP I believe, and he should be able to finally get enough lead since the finish is just 1 long corner after the straight.

In my opinion, Tsukuba isn't a high speed big horsepower course. It's all about control and keeping your driver level headed. There are three hairpin corners where you can make up or lose ground. I have noticed that B-Spec drivers (and the AI) have a tendency to goose the rear end around in tight turns when they're agitated. Well, this won't help the tires and the lap time. The key is lightness and quickness. I have used my fully tuned Mazda Miata with under 200 hp and with my level 9 Bob and have won this event against BMW M Coupes, Aristos, Mustang GTs and the like. Keep your driver's temper under control and wait while the more powerful and much heavier cars burn through their tires (so much tire smoke!) and then take them one at a time in the corners. BTW, by the end of lap 2 the competition's rear tires are already colored white while my bob's are still dark blue. They do pull away in the straight but my Bob reels them in on the last big right hand sweeper and in the corners. I have also noted that the program will pick cars based on your own cars PP so using an over-powered but ill-handling car like the Buick won't do much good. Try a lighter car with less horsepower but more agility and nimbleness. And keep your driver's emotions under control. Hope that helps.

Since you've let him touch one of your premiums, don't you happen to have a Corvette C6, maybe one RMed? It should be really easy with it.
What seemed to work for me when my Bob couldn't catch his opponents is spam overtake commands until he overtakes someone, then cooling him till the middle. Then reapeat the process. Once he is in the lead, keep him in the middle by using "Maintain pace", over and over.

Lol. I just took gold in the professional series with my Buick special in the muscle car championship.

yet I still can't get gold in the beginner league for RWD.

K, i'm going to upgrade the dodge neon srt-4 unless anyone can sway me :D

thanks for the tips; i'm going for a more agile car now.

Just swept the FR series with my level 2-3 bob. I used a Catherham Fireblade using Praiano's set-up https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5288838#post5288838 I actually tuned the power down to 149 hp to make it more of a challenge for bob. Went up against the Shelby, Camaro, BMW Concept, Nissan Silvia, 300ZX, a Buick GNX, Corvette and a couple of Fairlady Z's. Waited until the last two laps on Tsukuba to take on the Shelby and my bob took him nicely. After this series, I had him take on the European Hot Hatch series and I turned the power all the way down to 104 hp and he still swept the series!! (a big thank you to Praiano63)

Update:
I used the same Catherham to train my newest Bob. I thought I'd throw him in on the FR race at Tsukuba to train him with a good challenge. I again dialed the Hp down to 104 hp and I even made the mistake of starting him on Sport Hard tires...duh! The competition was on Sport Medium and there were BMW 135s, Fairlady Z's, a Skyline 350 GT, 350Z's, a Corvette Gran Sport, a Merc 190E, RX-7 and a Prowler. I thought well at least last place would earn him some XPs. WRONG!!!! He was overtaking on the outside of most corners and won by a margin of 4.085 secs!!
I started the same race again but used Sport Mediums and he totally spanked the field. I failed to note the margin of victory but his best lap was 1:05:586 which is pretty good considering he's at level 2 and jumped up to 4. Looks like I've found my ideal training car and "giant killer" :dopey:
