Hey GTP,
I've been thinking about running a tournament with cash prize for the top three winners. However, I definitely need your advice, criticism and other thoughts on this matter. Since I'm willing to host the tournament, I'll provide the fund ($175). I'll keep the details short and precise since I don't want to type out an essay nor would you want to read one :P

I'm thinking about having 3 judges and 32 contestants (max). While filming the runs with a capture card to upload each battle on youtube. Obviously, You can't fit 32 players into one server so the battle maybe be stretched out for days.

Restrictions:
Comfort Tires Only
600ps and below
FR only

It would work, but you need to make sure your organization is absolutely on point for money to be involved.
That being said judges need to also be on point as well, you wouldn't want anyone to feel cheated.

Good on you if it works out, the more clean/organized competitions to drive in the better.

I'm definitely in if this happens! Someone with that nickname can't do bad things :P

Now serious, it's a great idea. I can help you out with something if it's needed ^w^

You're 100% right.

I'd be happy to judge, since I do it for a living anyway ;)

Just PLEASE don't use Tsukuba, it's boring and has nowhere you can show extra skill and flare. Use somewhere better and I'm in :)

Where do you recommend?

Well my first question is, what sort of level of driver are you expecting?

If it was the GT5 equivelent of D1, I'd suggest somewhere like Deep Forest or Grand Valley. If it's mid-level, then something like Autumn Ring. If you are thinking more beginner level, then Autumn Ring Mini or something like that.

Tsukuba is a great place to have competition, but maybe try Suzuka, Fuji, Tokyo.. Get creative, make it a challenge.

After all, plenty of tracks to choose from, with 10 fold the amount in competition section possibilities. :)

We do have our GTPDC to revive in this thread. But, I find a monetary prize seems difficult if one source provides it. I think there should be a entry fee rather than equals to the prize.

What payment methods do you suggest?
I can only think of paypal so far.

None but if the participants really want to give it their best. It should be something that they afford. Recently, I have been going to a World Tournament just for Street Fighter and I take it really serious in my pool( well so does the other thousand participants) . Just handing out seems like giving the "best" drifter here free money. Let the participates gain or lose something.

Good Idea. That would require $5.47 per participant to break even for all the prize money. My next question would be: who is trust worthy enough to hold the jackpot if that was the case? I know plenty people that would just run with the money bag lol

Just have a free entry event. I am sure if we had some GTP sponsor event, we will give some prizes out like a Life time premo account to the winner. Though I think it has to be something big like a wheel and a entry fee like 10 dollars USD. But PM Jordan or a Moderator about it. Right now, they are having the Sem finals for my event Evo Online.

The day has arrived for Super Street Fighter IV online warriors! The winner from each bracket of today's tournament advances to the semi-finals next Saturday, Dec. 18th, for a chance to win a free trip to Evo 2011. On top of the paid airfare, hotel and tournament fees, the winner next week will also be the owner of an exclusive online player title which reads "No One Comes Close."

Honestly, I'd love to see the best drifters (that GTP can offer) tandem side-by-side at an incredible pace; Enough to make viewers "WOW" :)
or maybe i'm getting my hopes up too high hahah :dunce:

If anything, I'll just make Tsukuba as the preliminary and then pick other technical tracks you recommended for the R16 and the Finals
