TT 35: Laguna Seca (SUSPENDED) & Chamonix West. [Post 1 for tunes!]

Dazmeister22
Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

Thanks for sharing. Hit a 1:37.9 on the 5th lap!

Dont´s see Laguna Seca replays Ron :ouch:

Amo does corner cutting at the start :irked:, Yanato clips a mark at the start but i can live with that and it doesn´t give him any advantage, but don´t know what to say about my contry fellow "Diogo", mate read this, you don´t need to that thing at the start :banghead::banghead:

I´m 6st at the moment but it´s clean by WRS standarts, and know i can do a lot better, but don´t count on me if you need to do those things to be at a top place
His Laguna lap is completely clean apart from hitting a cone at the beginning.

Nice lap from you as well, best I can manage is a low 1'37..

And how did you manage to set your car up like that? I need to make a crazy oversteering setup to get those cornering speeds.

The tune posted on this thread is good Wes, that's what i'm using :)

Thanks Wes, i will post my rubish setup this night when i get back home, but i didn´t do much, just remembered your setup of the Merc two weeks ago and try the same, but on a randow way :dopey::sly:

Boy, that Amo guy sure is taking a beating in these forums lately. I agree tho that maybe PD should do something about all this corner cutting and wall banging. Until till they do, this type of thing is just going to keep happening and people like Amo and others are just going to keep taking advantage of it.

A fun ride at Chamonix in the Pajero Rally Raid '85, stage 3 turbo, oil change and anything else I could find (that was it tbh, I think) with no tuning for 476pp and a 2.21.261. Going to see if I can find a set up for it somewhere and see how much difference it makes.

I can't see that he has gained much time from doing it this time as I can see a fair chunk (2 to 3 tenths) coming off my time on the leaderboard. I am not the greatest but some of the other top guys should be able to beat that. It is not that great a time in my opinion.

Will probably have another go at this later, there is easily a 1:35 in this for me

Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

Buy a brand new Evo X from Premium dealership. DO NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE.

Performance upgrades are everything except engine stage 1,2 or 3 and no turbo upgrade. So, it has all the best exhaust parts, air filter parts, suspension drivetrain etc. Oh and all the weight reduction parts too.

Here's the setup:

393bhp - Powerlimiter 100%
Ballast 170kg @ +50

Suspension:
RH 40/-15
SR 11.7/8.9
EXT 5/6
Com 6/5
ARB 4/4
Camber 1.0/0.7
Toe -0.15/0.05

LSD 10/20/12 Front
10/26/14 Rear

Torque Distribution 40/60

Gearbox

Reset to default, then set Final gear all the way to the right, then set max speed all the way down (to the left), then set individual gears to these settings:

1st-2.732
2nd-2.097
3rd-1.674
4th-1.385
5th-1.187
6th-1.044

Then set Final gear back to 4.213, this should give a max speed at the top of 140mph (approx 220km/h)

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

Thank you for the setup it did the trick for me.

They're talking about the huge shortcut he takes at Chamonix. I think his lap at Laguna is fine to be honest, he doesn't have all 4 wheels off the track at any time. Nice lap at Laguna Plato:tup:

I'm sorry :guilty: , I've done now a new lap without doing "that" at the start. I still cut a little but I will try to post a clean lap without cutting at all.

Thanks 👍

I have a 1:35.7 now.... sorry :sly:

If I knew how to tune I would like to fine tune it myself, at the moment I am 2 to 3 tenths faster using active steering, but I would much prefer to be running it without but it doesn't seem to like turn 2 or 3 or the last corner :ouch:

I can get very close I would of thought to the .4 Amo has with the tune currently, if I didn't get out of shape so much in turns 2 and 3  It sure struggles to get the power down through them turns, maybe it's my driving :dopey:

Edit: Great time you have without active steering Joker, maybe your tune could help me :sly:

Good job Diogo and good time, but if you can make it only "cutting a bit", trust me you can do it without cliping the cones.
I know you´re fast and don´t need this, that´s the only reason i talked, and if you see the new GT Academy 2-4 you know that PD is getting stricter, and laps like this are always "red".

👍

thanks for posting the set up its a real help to new gt5 drivers I ll give it a try later. what is the brake bias your running?????

Id also like to thank KB18FAN for the spa set up 76 my best result so far thanks

I feel sorry for Amo, that guy clearly has issues.
GTPL, what a disgrace.

Hello my friends!
What's Amo & Yinato doing? I'm asking because I can't turn on my PS3.

Right at the start of Laguna track you can cut the left turn if you clip the cones that are there. Amo is like a lawn mower :dopey:

Yanato didn´t do that, just touched a mark on the side but it could be without notion and he clearly don´t intend to gain any advantage.

1:37.147 which makes a cosy P45 for the next couple of minutes and the 3rd fastest German on the board. I think I have some Weissbier now :)

Going P1 & P2 within the game's rules!

Hate the rules dudes, hate the rules

Why not follow suit if it's not an issue for you? 💡

I think it's more a case of certain places on select tracks that PD never expected entrants to exploit and take advantage of rather than within the games rules :dopey:

To each their own anyway as I'm done with these Seasonals until I see first place is a clean racer and know it's worth a look 👍

There's more time in my lap and I am only a couple of tenths off the pace, using standard WRS rules of course :)

You should join me and GTP_UsualSuspect, first place is possible, especially if I can make this car feel a bit better in a couple of turns :ouch:

Well I'm not going to be bothered with any TT's that involve wall-banging or 4 Wheels on the grass shortcut. Because it just plain sucks.

I was saying the fault is with the game.
It's bad, and needs fixing.

Scenario reminds me of Thierry Henry's handball against Ireland to knock us out of the worldcup. I hated the referee, Sep Blatter, Soccer. Henry did what he had to.

I wanted them to fix the game, Camera Technology and whatever

Plato, does your current 3rd place mean you're back on pace (the one you're claiming you lost for weeks now :sly:)?

No problem my friend. Working on a setup for the Evo. I hate these cars and tuning them is a trick in its self. Maybe its the tires, but these things handle like crap.
