Depending on how you look at it, Apricot Hill is on the easy side of Intermediate or the hard side of Beginner, skill wise. It's got a little bit of reducing-radius turn action, a few mild S-shaped sections, and one genuinely demanding turn that comes after a straight where a lot of speed has been built up. This is an easy track that is a lot of fun after you learn the basics.

One of my favorite trracks. Enjoy. Ran a test race last night. AI pretty easy to get around in the first 1 1/4 laps. After that it was just a matter of how close I wanted to cut it as I attempted to thread the needle in places.

And a sample from YouTube. Think it's from the TT Mode side.

SS, jump in. Only a 5 lapper. Kid's stuff compared to the GTPLMS and your new series. Much more fun than typing.

Apricot Hill. A wonderful little track..with a darkside. The first two corners are by far the hardest, simply because you break for the first corner, and then you have a brief period on the gas before you hit the brakes again for the second corner. This can cause one to carry too much speed into turn 2. Also, there have been countless times where the AI has given me a love tap and sent me into the grass. No mistakes here, or you'll be eating sand or end up facing the wrong way.

Turn 7 would be the next toughest corner, as it's the only true hairpin of the track. Heavy breaking is required.

Next are Turns 13 and 14. These would appear to be a long sweeper, but they are, in actuality, similar to the first two corners of the track. They go from gradual to sharp, causing one to once again, brake twice. Or, you could let of the accelerator for a moment. But, be warned, there isn't a very large grass patch between the track and the wall coming out of the final corner. If you can't tame it, you'll meet that wall...with your face.

hi :) i have to disagree with you on that. once you're on the brakes for turn one, you should be gradually scrubbing off
speed until you get on the gas to exit turn two

no need for any kind of acceleration between turns one and two 👍

A couple of good races in. Plus a bunch of restarts because I tried to cut it too close on lap one. On my saved race. The turn 11 chicane before the main straight was every bit as good as the sample video above. But the other four were less than stellar. Hopefully I will be more competitive than at SSR5. Are you guys running at 186 or 192 or higher on the top speed slider?

Depends on the speed you´re coming out of the last corner.

Try 192 or 198mph.I used 192 but I hit the rev limiter before the breakpoint

Hope that helps

Same set-up as myself, apart from my fastest lap was 1.23.477 but im lacking a bit of consistency........

Waited until the last minute again & my time shows it :(

Probably faster than me. Ran 5 trys last night. Any offs and started over. Had a nice run going with a 1'27.xxx but as usual screwed it up in lap 5. :ouch: Will submit run from last Wednesday. :banghead:

edit: Based on the people who have submitted their pm's (no peaky) I have a great chance to finish last. :yuck:

time submitted 👍 didn't quite have my gaming head on tonight, so i had to settle for the time i got at the weekend :)

G'Day all,

Times submitted.
Had the same issues as our fearless leader for a while, going well then a penalty for running slightly wide or falling off at the chicane :grumpy:

Eventually managed a clean Race, and actually ended up doing a very consistent effort.

Too slow but

Should get a video prepared for your critical appraisal by Friday with a bit of luck.

G'Day all,

Just picked up the dazzle. Will try to figure it out and start downloading my speedy vids. :sly:

My speadsheet keeps dropping the third decimal number in my spreads on the L1 T1 column. eg. 24.00 instead of 24.001. Any help would be appreciated.

edit: Mega Thanks Viperin for the spreadsheet help.

Hmm, usually if a spreadsheet does that it usually means either the cell is not formatted to be wide enough or it is not formatted to accept enough decimal places.

Select cell and then drag it wider.
If does not fix, select cell then go to Format cell, select number format and then slect number of decimal places you want.

If you have Office 2007 look in the 4th box from the left in the main ribbon.

Results up. pm me your video and I'll put them in the thread. Have raVer's so far.

1:23.477! Holly crap! Are you on rails deathwalker? lol

I wish!! i did do a faster lap but my overall time was slower so discared that run, i use alot of entry speed and let momentum slow the bike down to the apex speed, giving me a better drive :)

Video will be up tomorrow hopefully!

good going all, very fun event 👍 i'll get my best lap video up in due course

edit: uploading best lap video now. i discovered upon recording it that it was in fact a 1:23.893, and not a .863 as i previously said

sorry about that, i'll be more careful in future :)

Seventh place in a very tough field sounds much better than last. 💡 Talent aside. I know I'm losing ground because of the AT and Normal setup along with using the right analog for acc/brake. But otherwise I would have to limit my races severely. The old hands just aren't 18 anymore.

Besides, I'm having fun. I keep thinking that as you guys kick me in the teeth every week.

RP, no worry about the error. Buy me a beer next time you see me.

edit: Thanks raVer, now I know I really suck. :grumpy: :)

You´re not alone with using AT and Normal setup , I´m doing so too :guilty:

No need to feel guilty I use the same setup as well !

btw - I uploaded the replay file to the TTbikesim site and my file is grouped with European PAL files, however when I downloaded DJ_Bakers file from Monte Carlo it did not work on my PS2.
There is obviously a compatibilty issue between Europe / Aussie PAL versions. Shame :(
It would be nice to chase a Ghost I could actually learn off 💡
I will get my Race uploaded to the usual place soon.

Well done everyone. A fun Race.

edit - Congrats to our fearless leader regarding the Water Polo success !!
