Hi everybody... I'm new as you can see. I have a very stupid dought. What's the difference between the Tuning part of the Tuner City and any brand tuning part. Please if you don't understand... tell me.

Thanks.

I'm afraid I don't understand, but if what you mean is what is the difference between the brands in the tuner village, I believe the answer is none.

EDIT: The difference between manufacturers tuning equipment and Tuning village equipment I also believe is none, except there is original suspension available at the Tuning Village. I may be wrong though...

There is absolutely zero difference between different tuning brands' parts.

The upside to the Tuner Village is the ability to use Stage 5 (a.k.a Original) turbo and Original suspension. Generally the turbo is cheaper than the highest normal stage available and will produce slightly LESS power, however it will be noticeably quicker when actually being driven due to the much more useable powerband.

The benefits of the Original suspension aren't that many honestly; it allows for a lower minimum ride height, the minimum spring rate is higher and the maximum spring rate is higher. However, the dampers are somewhat primitive and only one-way adjustable (much like semi-racing or sport dampers).

Hi! I'm Zexel with my new account (becouse I prefer this name). I'm not a good English speaker so it takes me time to understand. As I can see... if you go to Tuner City you can get the original suspension (which I don't understand if it's better or not, please explain me) and you can get another stage of the turbo (which also I can't understand if it's better or not).
If you go to tune your car... do you go to the Tuner City or not? Please explain me a little better. As I said before I'm not a good English speaker. Thanks a lot.

Duplicate accounts aren't permitted here. 👎
Are you going to stick with Honda Power or Zexel?
You can't have both.
One of these accounts will be terminated, just let us know which it's to be.

Yes I know, I was waiting for a moderator to ask that. I prefer this account becouse I prefer this name. So if you can... May you delete the account Zexel? Sorry for bad English. Bye.

It depends a lot on preference.
The "Original" suspension is no improvement on the race suspension, although I am under the personal belief that it is a bit stiffer and if you're not planning on tuning the car, rather just buying parts for it, this is the option for you.

What Rotary Junkie stated about the "Original" Turbo is true. It's a bit cheaper, a bit less powerful, but more usable on twistier tracks.

This means that when you go to tune your car, you generally don't go to Tuner City. For example if you want to tune up a Honda you go to Mugen, right?
And I don't have clear another thing (sorry about asking so much). Any car may go to spoon? Or just Honda? Thanks a lot and sorry about my bad English.

I wouldn't say it's even all that more useable and in fact the main benefits would be for high speed handling and extremely heavy cars; low and stiff is the way to go there. (Heavy cars will overload the outside tires if set somewhat high up, same goes for high speed cornering).

Except that bit is about suspension, not the turbo :)

I've only driven I think 2 cars with Original Suspension, both around Motegi, and the suspension was no better than the Race suspension in my opinion.

I've never used the Stage 5 Turbo though.

Oooh my bad, was a bit out of it at time of posting

The Stage 5 turbo is almost always a better solution than the other highest stage available; much less lag and a much wider powerband.

So... here's another question, why isn't the Stage 5 turbo, and the Original suspension available to all cars that can enter their respective tuner shops?

Because obviously not all cars that a given tuner shop can/will tune are worth it to them to develop specialized suspension and turbo bits.

That, and it makes the game far more fun, doesn't it?
If all the cars could have the best bits then that would just be dull in my opinion

^^Agreed. In real-life, there is a larger aftermarket supply of parts choices for some cars (Hondas and Volkswagen GTis, for instance) than there is for others, mostly because some people are more fanatic about street racing these cars, which has broadened the market alot for them. 💡 I only wish PD had taken this idea (tuning shops) a bit further for various American & European cars that are popular as street & amateur racers, and have a broader aftermarket supply.

ON the other hand, I find it ridiculous that virtually ANY car can get a racing suspension (or even a sport suspension in some cases!), stronger clutch, fully-functional brake balance controller, etc. I mean, I checked...so far as I can tell, it's NOT possible to buy racing parts for a Subaru 360 from Subara Techinica International. I'm sure if you had a well-equipped machine shop, you could make some parts if you spent a long time getting it right! But STI would laugh in your face if you requested they create some racing parts for a very rare slug that they haven't built for about 40 years. :dunce:
