i have a dodge viper gts with 1092 horsepower, my question is how do i control this beast? i cant steer worth a crap ans its a B to maintain control going around turns:banghead: :banghead: if anyone could be so kind into giveing me some advise to make this go better plz tell me. thx

Welcome to GT Planet, SVT. I suggest you try searching for "Viper" on this board, and see what you get.

However, you've kind of answered your own question. Very high-power cars are just plain difficult to control. I suggest you cut the horsepower back below 700; you'll find the car much faster to drive that way.

Good luck!

thx, but ive also found somthing else out, my gt40 has around 540 horsepower give or take a few, but when i go to turn it seems like im on a wet road or somthing i dont know, i think that it may have somthing with the tuning where u can make the gears go from a sporty stance to a wider one but im not sure

Gearing has nothing to do with your car's turning ability. Buy a full customizable suspension and play with the settings if you don't find anyone with their own. I don't tune American cars, so I wouldn't know. Try increasing the camber angles, lengthening the toe, and increasing the ride height on the heavy end of the vehicle...

Honestly, I think it's mostly a matter of practice and driving technique. Settings can only do so much. GT3 is not like an arcade game where the cars have monster traction and the laws of physics barely apply. In a fast car you're going to have to brake hard and early to slow enough to negotiate anything other than very shallow turns.

true, ive kinda gone to some other cars and they seem to handle juss a li better, but i love the car to death and i wanted to make it more easier to handle but ur right more practice should make perfect

dukes right although it could be that the viper cant stand all that horsepower maybe like 500-700 but thats it ive had the same experience with a fully tricked out supra it had like 1060 hp or somethingand the grip would break off the the rear wheels and loose control but anyway try downgrading your tune ups and crazy turbos and find a good setup on gtvault.com and it should work fine could also improve your driving techinque maybe your just not used to 1000 hp at one time;)

should i do the same downgrading on some of my other cars? the control has improved alot since the downgrade on my viper but im having similar probs with my gt40 and vanquish and each one has a moderate horsepower. the gt has around 540 and the vanquish has around 735 or somthing like that but i know its not real high

Having driven the Vanquish, I'll tell you that 700+ does qualify as "real high". In real life cars, 400-500 hp qualifies as "real high", even in a car as heavy as the Aston. I think you've fallen into a common trap, and are adding power but ignoring the rest of the car. Honestly, when I'm trying to go fast, power is almost the last thing I add. Let me ask you some other questions.

What tires are you using? Tires are the best and cheapest way to go fast. You should be using at the very least T2 Super Slicks. You can go all the way to T8 but those are very addicting, and they don't last long enough in races. I try to stay around the T4 range. If you're using Sports tires or Sim tires, get off of them right now.

Do you do any suspension upgrades? Start with the full race suspension. Lower the car by about 10% of whatever the stock height is, and remember to make the springs 10% stiffer to compensate. Then drive a few laps and start tuning the suspension. Search this board for tips on making adjustments.

As you've learned, more power isn't the answer if you can't control it.
