Hey All,
I was searching the internet for how to tune the Cobra 427 to win the Historic Racing Cup. Everything I found didn't work for me, so I tuned it myself, and didn't have any problems beating both races. This website turned up a bunch on google, so I thought it would be a good place to post it. Hope you all enjoy. This is also not an optimized tune, its just the first set of settings that let me beat these races. Im sure people can improve them.
First off, I maxed out all the specs on my Cobra. I did an oil change before ever taking it out to drive it. All together I have 756hp. Also, I recommend using the driving aids, even if (like me) you usually keep them off) While not required, they make it much easier to control this beast of a car. If you do not use them, you'll have to be very careful about feather the throttle (traction control) and braking in a straight line (stability control).
For driving aids I recommend:
Assisted Steering: Mild
Traction Control: 4
Stability Control: On
ABS: 5
For both races I had my LSD set for:
Initial Torque: 15
Acceleration Sensitivity: 47
Braking Sensitivity: 23
For the first race on Deep Forest Raceway, here is my setup.
----------------------------------------------------------
Ride Height:
-20 -15
Spring Rate:
7.0 8.0
Shock (Extension)
3 4
Shock (Compression)
5 6
Anti-Roll Bars
3 3
Camber:
1.0 1.0
Tow
.21 0.0
Maximum Speed:
186
Strategy is also important. Get in first place before you get around the first bend, or you wont be able to catch up. After that you should be able to make a nice lead for yourself. You will have to watch you rear view mirror on the last lap for Chapparal 2J.
For the second lap at
----------------------------------------------------------
Ride Height:
-20 -15
Spring Rate:
8.0 9.0
Shock (Extension)
4 5
Shock (Compression)
6 7
Anti-Roll Bars
3 3
Camber:
2.0 1.0
Tow
.21 0.0
Maximum Speed:
155
This is a much easier race for this car. Take it easy around the corners. You can change your top speed up 1 more notch to 162 if you like, as you -will- top out on the uphill section at the beginning of each lap, but only for a short distance. I think the compromise on top speed it worth it though. Again, make sure you get into first on the first or second corner. Its possible to make it up if you don't, but not easy. Again, the Chapparal 2J will be on your tail.
