Hello, if anyone has experience with this, please give me your thoughts.

I'm currently tuning an '05 WRX STi, which has a powerband that peaks in the middle and drops off at the higher RPMs. I use GT Gears to help tune a transmission, as it tells me where to place the gear ratios to stay in the powerband, but that only works when it peaks in the high range.

How can I tune this WRX so that the transmission stays in the middle of the powerband? Is that effective? I'm not sure whether to raise or lower the gears to get the most effect out of the engine.

Make the final drive taller and short shift. Calculating proper shift points is pretty involved, so you'll have to guess. Your shift points should be at a higher RPM in the lower gears and get progressively lower as you progress into the higher gears.

Right, you'll need to be shifting early. I think my usual shift point in the Spec C is around 7500rpm, not sure though (been a while).

With this car, if you're running anything close to max power, I'd aim to have the top speed listed on the top right around 240-260mph. I might be rereleasing mine for Spec II duty soonish so...
