Tuning & upgrades

What is the point of the upgrade shop when you can't fully work your cars because it's no longer in its class and every car you buy is ready to race in this class
There used to be a class racing meaning class e to class r now that's no longer in the game I thought it will come back but It didn't now the only game that you can use a fully worked car in now is the Horizon series
But saying all that I do like the divisions in the game but I would have loved if they brought back the class division so you can race any car as long as the class matched

If you don't care to run the car in homologated races, you can create your own homologation for free play or online.

So my guess is the only way you can fully upgraded cars is if you gone play online or FreePlay then if that's the case that's horrible why didn't they bring back the class division that was in Forza Motorsport 5

The jury is still out on whether or not this new homologation system they've introduced is going to really balance the classes.

I've had a bit more time with the game now and I will say that it does look promising though. I've built a few cars per class and so far they've all been pretty competative.

I will say things like custom suspension and transmissions really add the points. So you gotta be careful I guess.

I never was one for throwing everything available on every car anyway. I much prefer to add a few select upgrades and make the car drive well. Most cars when you add everything have far to much power and to little grip. I really like the idea that now there may be a couple of leaderboards where we can have muscle cars competing and only using 400-500hp and street tires on them and none of this 1000hp on stock tires stuff that we saw in previous forzas

I like the idea in theory, and in practice it DOES work well, but the issue is that whilst all the 4WD V12 muscle cars from Horizon 3 are gone it also means people like me who enjoyed building up cars to a couple of classes up have been a bit screwed over. Rather than (or even as well as) homologation for each individual car category, I personally would've liked homologation categories that simply give you a tire, power, and weight limit and then just simply tells you to go and build whatever you want, whether that's a car that already meets the restrictions when stock or a car that's been modified and converted into a racing machine.

I like pulling a rotary engine in a Nissan S15 but when you do that you no longer you can use it in its division the only way you can use it used to go online or FreePlay I'd like to use in career

As far as I can tell the homologation should not be a problem. I have taken a few cars now some I let the game upgrade and some I purchased stock. I then modified both types of cars according to the restrictions in the division they were in and was able to race them in that division both in career and in free play. Basically it just seems to be the old Auto Upgrade option but without the old class letters used and now using more restrictions than just PI.

I also liked being able to take a car up a class or two or even more in some cases but I do like the idea of tire, power, type of car and pi all as part of the class restriction. In previous Forza titles you would get these E class cars fitted with race tires and dominate the low classes on grip tracks and you would get muscle and super cars fitted with huge HP dominating on speed tracks well above their class. The end result was that most of the actual race cars were not able to compete with street cars and lower class cars could not compete with the even lower class cars because in coming up in class they were fitted with tons of grip or power depending on the track neither of which was possible in the class that the next car up would have been in.

So over all I think the divisions are a good idea and if they have to pick between that and the old style classes for the leaderboards I am all for the new divisions at this point. That said I think they should still consider adding some hoppers for the old class system and if they can add the additional leaderboards they could have a set of those too so long as they do not interfere with the new division system.

I really like the idea of being able to take one of those old S class open wheel cars out and compete in races and on the leader board with other old open wheeled racers and not have some super car with a big wing and even bigger engine just blow us off the road in the same class.
Same goes for lots of other cars.
