Hello.
I searched all over the internet and decided to make a new thread.
I KNOW there are stickies, but they DO NOT help me, really.
I am reaching out to you, expirienced tuners!
I want to tune my cars, and do it well. When you go out tuning a car, what do you do? You get a feel of the car, and?
I was hoping one of you can write what each function does, what you need to do to remove/add understeer, sharpness, oversteer etc.
Please, PLEASE help...
All I need is an explanation on the suspensions, and LSD. That's it! I know about trans, aero and all that stuff. I am just stuck badly with suspension and LSD. Please help

Here's a brief discussion onLSD Tuning put in laymen's terms.

As a rule of thumb, and this is almost excessively simplified, but on the suspension raising the front/ lowering the rear promotes understeer, and switching that gives you the reverse.

Camber angles the tire so that under centrifugal force it levels out and gives you more traction (Generally front ~2.0/ rear ~1.0)

Toe refers to the direction of the tire, ie- negative toe has it pointing out, positive in.

Honestly, you just need to play with it and feel out what works for you.

In my garage I have written a guide for the non-tuner and the beginning tuner. I am also currently working on more advanced topics. I just lay out my method. Other top tuners on GTP have methods that work for them and may differ from what I do. Hope you learn something from my garage. Link in my signature.

+1
I enjoy having that as a reference.

front height raised = under steer
Rear height raised = over steer.
FF car = less or -rear toe

For LSD Initial and acceleration make the car accelerate faster while the braking setting slows it down better when braking

Everything else depends on certain other settings, but thats the basics

Sarcasm bro
I only have one car with anything set above 35.

There lots of ways of setting it. You can make everything low numbers and see how that feels or you put initial low and can crank accelerate way up and braking almost as close and achieve the same result.

That's the exact opposite of true.
Lowering the rear/raising the front increases over steer, and lowering the front/raising the rear will increase under steer.
Also, stiffening the front/softening the rear increases over steer, and vice versa.

I'm sure there's a sticky on tuning. There's no point tho just go to the tuning part in gt5 and click the question mark. Read. It says what everything does just read slow and maybe test it out a bit with a car than read some more and make changes that way. Eventually you will remember what everything does and how it affects everything else

Maybe I simplified too much. I meant the numbers themselves, and forgot to take into account the ride height glitch, but I haven't had any experience to back up that last bit "Stiffening the front/softening the rear increases oversteer." I know this is going to start a big debate, but the only thing that seems backwards in GT5 is the ride height.
