Actually, isn't the naming of continents rather outdated?
it's not as if there are vast tracts of land between the known regions of Europe and Asia, or unknown lands sandwiched beween North and South America.
I dunno, working in a educational supply company has made me realized how uselss the memorization of continents is when kids around here can barely remember the states of the union.
I'm not promoting ignorance here; I'd like know that when I'm speaking of Spain, or Cambodia, or Sudan, that someone else has an idea where it is on a map. But when I noticed that we have 5 different world maps that all seem to divide the world into continents with vastly differing borders, it all seems useless to use continent names. We're not entering the planet from other worlds on a regular basis...
