I want to start recording drift videos, and I don't want to have to set-up a camera (which I don't have) behind me and record that way. I was told that you can record your replay from your TV using a TV Tuner? i'm just wondering if this is correct, and secondly will this TV Tuner work for recording videos from my PS2.

Okay, thanks I looked around but I couldn't really find a thread for what I needed to know.. but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

ahha, a Canadian.
I got the exact same card a little over a year ago [it was either from Future Shop, or Computer Boulevard ...]. I don't know that there is much need in continuing this discussion in the drift forum - but, should you purchase this card and want any sort of help with it, feel free to send me a PM.

Some example of the video quality possible with this card is shown here:
DSJ9 Highlights
I suppose it might be worth noting that I have that vid heavily compressed to under 6mb/min. A little better contrast and sharpness is possible if you go with a little less compression.

Anywhoo, I hope that aids you in your decision.

sorry i will precise my question because is a little bit confusing....witch program i need to run that or we have an edit prog include?

Please use the edit button in the future if you want to rephrase your post.
It comes with lousy ATI VCR software, but it is compatible with all other capture programs that I've tried.

@ DR!FTER X: smarten up.... I have no clue what you're talking out, but I'm pretty sure it's off topic...

I picked it up today; and i'm curious seeing as the instruction manual says dick-all. I take that purple cord plug my PS2's RGY cords in. Then what buttons do I press on the media centre? I tried everyone.

Do not use media center, ever.

If you want to just play ps2, watch tv, or record shows, get a program called Dscaler. I highly recommend it.

Google for it...i do not remember the link.

indeed. The ATI Software is poo
you'll be dropping frames in every which direction with that thing....

I've heard dscaler is a good bit of software if your card is supported [and I can't imagine the TV Wonder Pro not being supported]. though, I haven't used it myself.

If you're only concerned with capturing videos from the PS2, and not watching tv on your monitor, then I'd recommend you get virtual dub.

ya, hook the composite cables [or S-video, in the case that you have S-video from your PS2] into the purple guy that came with the card. Hook that up to the appropriate port on the tv tuner card and you're good to go. The rest of the configuration required to get the PS2 to display on your PC must be done through software.

To get the picture to show up on your PC with virtual dub, you have to enter capture mode [from File menu]. If your PS2 is on and you are not getting a picture at this point make sure that your TV Wonder Pro is selected in the Dvice Menu, and that the video source [in the video menu] is set to Video Composite [or S video in the case that you are using S-video].

I think that should pretty well cover it. oh... and make sure you have the required drivers for the card installed. They come on the software cd, and upgrades are available online.
