A few ideas of mine

Garages/office-Places to work on your car when you start out you could have something like a small house which you can walk around your house could hold a small number of cars in the drive as the game progresses you get better garages like full blown warehouses with testing facilites as with the office at the start it could be just a computer with e-mail etc but as you progress it could become more of a business aspect involed (once this doesn't take up too much of the game)

Business- I think you sould be albe to make money by other means then racing so as a race driver you could sign deals with racing teams aftermarket companys etc these will give so a "Wage" so the better you perform the more money you get they will also give you cars garages and offer discounts on certain goods

The garage idea is a good one, the business idea, I think there's some scope for expansion in that regard, I think expanding your options as a team manager/driver would be cool. The idea of including sponsorships would be good, what exactley would be the best way of implementing them is open to debate, but it would go in hand with running a racing team, that's for sure. The busines aspect shouldn't be too big, and it shouldn't require a lot of focus, GT is mainly about the car's.

Which brings be to the car's, one area I'd like to see GT improve is in the car modification, I'd like not only visual mod's like front splitters, and rear wing's, but more part's choice, not just stage 1,2 or 3 turbo, I'd like proper type's of turbo with different benefits, I'd like to be able to setup a twin turbo system in a car should I want to, or a quad turbo system. I'd like to be able to alter my car's drivetrain, I'd like to be able to fit a different engine in should the car's fram allow it. Forget racing clutch and sports clutches, have real clutches that will need upgrading as you upgrade the car, a racing clutch built for a 300bhp touring car wouldn't work too well in a 600bhp GT car, same goes for gearboxes and drive shafts. I'd like to be able to change the cams and the size of the brake disks, I'd like to be able to fit wider wheels if grip's becoming a problem, I'd like to be able to go into the car tuning a hell of a lot more.

Hrm... in the office...

So, suppose you have a desk, and behind/beside it is your trophy case. On the desk is a PC you activate to get emails, IMs, search for cars for sale, check out the status of the league you're in (assuming Career Mode is in GT5). Is this what you're talking about?

I think it would be interesting to see Gran Turismo so deep that you could email manufacturers and brag about your standing in the league to canvass for sponsors and endorsements. Get messages from competitors and invites to special races in between your racing schedule.

I recall that SegaGT 2002 had a garage which you could adorn with furniture, trophies, nick-nacks and accessories. That might be cool too.

As for L4S's ideas, I assume that you mean upgrading the engine would include with it upgrades to the drivetrain as well. That's a good idea too.

Sega GT 2002 - except for having a garage for furnishing - also had a first ever PhotoMode :D, damage (provisional, with damage shown as bar and cost needed to be paid after the race) and nice sytem of sponsorship races (when won, those deals were giving you money through the time period).

Also, Sega GT 2002's damage-gameplay system is a great showcase of what can happen to a gameplay when one have to pay for damage after each race with very good AI. It's a frustration-waiting-to-happen.

It was a nice game, and it's still a nice game. Too bad Xbox never had a ff wheel, that game could become a mythical greatness with it's very profound physics model (not only being stolen by Konami for Enthisua, but also by Microsoft for Forza as well), great graphics, believable car-models (probably best one ever besides GT's) and compelling and extremely hard gameplay.

When I picked up Enthusia, I noticed a used copy of Sega GT 2002 and had to get it as well. Now I'm even happier that I did. I'm still stuck in Forzaland for a few weeks but intend to get to it sometime this summer.

Man, it's less than two weeks till E3, and even less till Sony's press conference. Time is beginning to DRAG! :P

Another Idea about the garages you can buy a plot of land and build on it you could buy jacks tools etc and the office you could put in furniture when you go to sell the garage it would go up in value

nice idea but that might be a bit much...

and is anyone else excited..E3 might have GRAN TURISMO 4 PLAYABLE DEMO! i cant wait. i hope pd has this out soon

I already have GRAN TURISMO 4 FULL GAME, thank you very much . Did you mean GT5 or GT4 online?

Gran Turismo 4 Online Edition is kind of absent from the rumor mills. I'm beginning to believe that Gran Turismo Vision may be a dream come true this November.

I still think that what I've been saying all along is right, GT Vision isnt a game, it's a demonstration of a vision of what's to come. GT4 online and Vision GT are not one and the same. Neither is GT5.

Okay, Gran Turismo 4 A-Spec then. ;)

But I wasn't really saying Online and Vision were the same. Online was obviously a PS2 game, but the news on it has evidently gone dead, and that usually only happens when a game goes dead, but we'll see.

If Gran Turismo 5 comes out very early in 2007, then more than likely this will be the only GT to come out in this time period. But if Kazunori-sama wants to make Gran Turismo 5 the game to define the next generation of racing games, maybe several more months of development will happen like it did with GT4. If it's delayed, I can see GT Vision becoming a game. I'm only mildly interested in Ridge Racer 7, and not much at all in Test Drive and the Formula 1 game.

Remember how many people say they won't buy a PS3 until Gran Turismo is available for it. I'm not going to insist on this since it's just a possibility, but to completely deny it is to ignore a few hints.

hate to bust your hopes, but your confusing GT with "DTM Racer" series then.
Look people, buy furniture, and decorating your office. This really isn't "The Sims" if youre in to decorating houses, you should purchase that game

Auto Molsta (sp) let you move things around the garage like the oil barells and the tool boxs and can't see the problem with GT5 doing it and I doubt a tool box would take that long to make

:) Why does that sound soo similar to Toca Race Driver... it would be a really cool addition seeing as PD know how to render people very well (like pit crews and stuff in the GT4 intro video etc...)

One option that i would like is to make your carrer as a Tuner, owning a Tuning house, but without making your own performance parts(that would be too much),just putting chosen parts on the car, making very good, balanced setups and the price would be high just like the quality of the setted up car,so you can make good money if you can tune your car well!
