Well this is going to get confusing...

TL;DR Version:
To start with we'll give names to the two parties:
"Fernandes" - The one in the racing last year
"Proton" - The one replacing Renault
Right then.
Proton have bought out Renault so they will be called Lotus Renault next season.
Fernandes is still the owner of Team Lotus in the sport last year. Their cars will be called Lotuses. (Lotii?)
BOTH cars will be in Black and Gold to reflect John Player Special style in the 70s and 80s.
BOTH cars will have Renault Engines.
Fernandes is probably going to get the historic Team Lotus name.
Fernandes is sueing Proton for pulling out of the name contract early, as well.
ALL COMMENTATORS are going to be confused.
