Another random idea I had, to go with pillion riding in Tourist Trophy. đź’ˇ

What if you could ride in the passenger seat of a car that's being driven by someone else in online multiplayer? Say you wanted to learn a circuit with a decent driver or show off to your friends, you could strap yourself or your friend into a car and watch from a passengers point of view. :scared:

Comments, arguments, sacred cows? :)

Why not sit and watch? No need to have a 'passenger seat' in the game. Just sit and watch the driver work the wheel and pedals. Unless you're talking about on-line play.

I think this would be something that'd be integrated into a spectator mode, they can select different camera views including in-car and tv style ones, bonnet cam, heli-cam ect. If you wanted the buckled in and watch perspective just select any in-car camera's.

Yeah, I was thinking about how neat it would be if PD had the online play become an integral part of the game, and getting to watch a 20+ car race on nurburgring with way more freedom than real life. Being in for a passanger lap on-line would be a really cool idea if it is just you and a friend doing whatever, good thinking.

I see a possibilty of maybe using two seats in a co-op rally mode. One being the driver (duh!) and the other being the navigator. Telling the driver what turn is next in the course. There could be different legs and at the start of a new leg the driver and navigator switch. This could be neat in an online mode IMO. Don't know of how you'd go about designing something like that but I guess that's why I don't design games now do I?

i can see the possibility of a spectator mode in GT5 being highly succesfull in say an online series.... imagine if the WRS became a weekly online series with real races online. People (members of GTP) could spectate (from any of the views suggested by live4speed) and watch the race itself. This could also aid people in learning a particular car or track. I could imagine watching say veilsidebr or holl01 in a race and learning little things to pick up those vital tenths. I think it would make the game a lot better. Obvcourse GT5 HAS to have online play for any of this to happen nudge nudge PD..wink wink

Good idea, but Demon Drone did you have to beat me to the idea about a co op mode. Like in rally.

Where one player is the driver, and the other is the passenger who barks out where to turn. I know it sounds strange, but PS3 can make it happen.

We could have like people talking about the race, and even highlights. We may see the next Murry Walker from GTPlanet mate.

Aswell as letting the people talk about the race, who could talk to the drivers. But if there were people talking about the race, the people watching the race from there TV.

And they could listen in on the talking about the race, and listening to the people talking to the racing drivers. While he replies back, to ask of his point of view from the racing.
