Tyre changing before a race

Maybe I just overlooked it, but I can't find it anywhere..

How do I change tyres before a race? When I'm at setup I can see all the tyres I got for that car but I dont see an option to change them.

Any advise?

Under driving options. If you can't change em, they're restricted on that race.

I haven't fully tested it yet, but it seems that whatever tires you own for that car it will pick the best ones that are allowed for that race.

For example, when I bought my dirt and snow tires it would automatically pick the correct ones for the race, and then switch back to road tires for the road races.

Ok I've tried everything I can think of. I still can not equip my racing soft tires. Im trying to do the Super Car challenge my roommate next to me has the same car and did the race with racing soft tires. There are no tire restrictions for the race. I have all 3 racing tires : Hard , Medium, Soft. I still cannot select the racing softs. Ive gone into the race , driving options when u can fine tune your car before the race , final gear , suspension , tires and all that ......and STILL cannot select different tires. All it does when I select tires is give me a description of them. I've read multiple posts saying to change it this window.....I still have no option. I have also exited the game and come back in to the same result. I've tried buying them again in the tuning window with no Effect. Any Ideas?

Before you hit "Start Race" or to go to the car settings, the button to the left of car settings has assist controls and where you choose Manual/Auto - Its in that window.

You do not change tires through that tuning menu. The one to the left of it is Driving Options, and where you can change your tires. The tuning menu just shows the tires you have purchased for that car.
