Is there such a thing as tyre temp in gt7 ? I know we have the tyre wear and is shown in the HUD but nothing that I can see in the HUD shows the temps .

It's a good question, because whenever I pit and get back out with fresh tires they feel a bit 'off' at first, but by the second half of that lap they start to feel better. Could be that it's a thing but isn't directly presented, not sure.

I noticed something similar. Went off at the first corner in a race at a lower than hot lap pace and braking for the next corner was longer than normal. I haven’t seen the usual colours on the tyres in the ui

On that basis you’d think that there was some sort temps in bedded in the game ,but if that’s the case then I wish it was shown in the HUD .

it's always been in the game, but they don't really talk about it, probably because it's quite rudimentary.
When you get on track and park the car for a while, tyres become blue on the HUD, and will perform very poorly until they come back up to a workable temperature (which usually just takes 2 or 3 turns).
It seems to be that in GT7 though, tyre physics have evolved a lot, and performance will strongly be impacted by time of day, track temperature. Or maybe it's all in my head.

^It's not in your head. They are definitely different when they're cold, as it should be. During the WTC800 races, the Nurburgring race starts and night and ends at dawn. The tires are better towards the end than they are at the beginning, because the track itself is colder at night.

So, they definitely put it in the game, but I also wish there was some indication of their temps. Either use colors or literally put a temp number in the tires' rectangles

Even GTS have the tire temp. However, it only activates on the races with tire wears. Also, the effect of low-temp tire or overheated tire is rather less pronounced (compare to real life tires) and all tires have pretty quick warm up speed and relatively broader operating temps (also compare to real life tires).

I hope they keep working on the game in the next years and visual feedback of the tyre temp would be a good start. But the hud is kinda clustered so there is a lot of work to do. It looks like they designt the hud for the bumpercam and forgot about the cockpitview.

I feel we have but not indicated. As others have said the grip seems to build as well as drop off if you get aggressive and wheelspin too much. Not indicated but i can feel it, or is it imagination.

Yes, PD have simulated tire temps from at least as early as GT5. Maybe earlier but GT5 was the first game I noticed it and could take advantage of it.

Only with tire wear on. With tire wear off the temps/pressure is locked to optimum and doesn't change with how you drive.

I think there is.
I was doing one of those cafe missions(Think it was US Vehicles on Trial Mountain Championship)
On the reverse course which has fast time cycle.
Lap 1, had little issues with grip with Sport Soft, lap 2 when it got dark, I was sliding more, understeering more and oversteering more.
Day the track was warmer, Night, track colder.
This might have also impacted tire temps.

I really hope in the upcoming updates we get tire pressures and a better indication of tire Temperature, They added wind to the game and gave us a little indicator on the top of the screen it wouldn’t be hard to implement tire pressures and tire temperatures at the bottom of the screen. We know the physics already in the game. And we know humidity and track temperature does evolve in the game. So why can’t we have this basic feature. The tire model is a good evolution from GT Sport it is still missing some work but it is a step in the right direction. Also the Michelin is sponsoring the game I think it could be very useful to bring this feature to the game.

This ^^^^^^^^
Especially if you pit because it started raining & you switch to rain tyres. I've noticed intermediates or wets feel like driving on jelly for the first 3/4 to full lap & if you make the wrong choice & use wets for just a damp track they overheat & wear out within a couple of laps.
I have also noticed grip levels vary dramatically depending on the time of day & if it's sunny or not.

Yes, tire temp is absolutely a thing. Only on races with tire wear enabled. If you want to know temps, download a sim dash app for your phone/ tablet. They all have widgets showing temp, wheel spin, and wheel lock. Though the default optimum thresholds are inaccurate, they can be adjusted.

GT 4 had full blues when you pitted for tyres and slowly switching to red as the laps progress.

My point is, tyre temps has been there at a very early stage. I too slid around for the 1st few corners after a pitstop in GT 7.

Yes, Kie commented that when you exit pit, tyres are at some "mid" range of temperature, not cold but not warm.

Why so much information is needed? I would remove the wet track indicator and the tyre wear indicator. And the gear suggestion.

This was posted yesterday and it's a very eye opening video, using the same Android app mentioned earlier in the thread.

Why tyre temperature is hidden from us is totally unknown.

There is tyres temperature in GT7. You can use sim dashboard on your phone or tablet to check it.
I installed it but it says "wifi not connected". Does it need to have the console connected via Wifi instead of cable?

The console needs to be connected in the same network and need to configure the local IP address of the console on the dashboard

Yes that's done but I get that message. I guess the console needs to be on wi-fi and not on cable.

It may be a case of "Access Point Isolation" by your router, that prevents different devices to communicate between them.

Mind also that the local network IP address expires periodically, so it's cautionary to check it every time you turn your console on.
In my case, when I have the wrong IP it just says the game is not running at the moment.
At the moment I can't check with my PS4 on a wired connection, because my house isn't wired this way but I believe many people who use the app, specially when playing online, uses a wired connection without issues.

Thanks a lot, will check that!

Maybe, i have the tablet and the PS5 connected to the same wifi and it works fine. (You have to enter the IP of the ps, you can find it in the connection section)

Hello,
great question. We have had Tire Temperature since the start of GT: Sport in 2018. It is not directly conveyed to the player. Starting with GT7, we now also have (dynamic) [OVERALL] TRACK Temperature, and [LOCALIZED] Track temperature. I hope this helps.

What are the best values for the thresholds?

Still working it out myself......Most of the time the tyres are around 145 to 170 during a race. This appears to be the case on an out lap after piting while the tyres are "slippery". So I'm starting to think the actual values are just visual but idk.
