X what?
Just reading the interveiw with inside line, and it appears we can pick the make of tyres we want to use in GT5 on our cars. It also seems clear that we will have branded tuning... thoughts?

Cool! Hopefully we'll get some cool wheels too and maybe a few factory body kits (no aftermarket crap).

Why not aftermarket 'crap' ?

Limits aren't any fun. I don't care if you don't like the way my car looks as it beats you across the line. :) I understand you don't want to race seriously against a dude in a clown-car, but them's the breaks if you're playing online. Skill still wins.

I'd be pretty disappointed if there weren't any aftermarket body kits.

Factory or aftermarket isn't the defining facor of a kit being any good or not, it's the design of the kit itself. I agree there should be a standard of kits that lean towards racing applications above any others, but that doesn't mean I only want factory kits which would be extremely limiting especially on some of the more prestige cars.

I would love to see factory/aftermarket kits in GT5 aslong as they are designed for a purpose, for example time attack kits. Aslong as they don't put in stupid ugly looking kits that don't do anything, like in the NFS series :yuck:

Are you kidding me, my Zonda needs twin turbos and a 500lbs weight reduction. How else am I going to reverse time. lol. As long as there are no 22 inch rims huge spoilers and neon pink paint I will be ok. I really want to see a return of the "today's special" in the rim shop.

Apparently you have never participated in real motorsports because it is common knowledge that aerodynamics play a huge roll on how your car performs. Anyone who has ever raced before will tell you the difference they felt when they installed that new lower bumper or the air splitter. Leme guess you don't want wings too cuz their rice? lol Oh no, that wing is aftermarket, it automatically sucks, right?

Well, it depends on what he means with 'aftermarket crap'. I think I speak for quite many, when I say that we don't need any Need For Speed or Fast & Furious 'crap'.

Racing style body kits are more than welcome, however! 👍

well i just hope aero kits would be modeled corectly and cause drag and such like they should. that way anyone who adds a spoiler as there first modification to there dodge neon will be easy to beat because of all the extra drag added.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about tyre brands and models being confirmed, Yes KY said it but it was very easy to be lost in translation. KY could have though he was asking will other tyre types make the car handle differently (eg N3 vs S1). He answered the question so easily like it was obvious in the first place, but it really is a big thing.

I hope it is true but I personally am not counting it as confirmed yet, it's not a small task.

It would be nice to be able to select the size of the rim and tires you put on your car in GT mode. For example, the BMW 2002 Turbo could only have 13" rims in GT4 ... After some time that became really annoiyng (seeing that you've modded your 2002 to the very maximum but were stuck with those skinny bubble tires)

So it was really satisfying to finally sport some 17" BBS when GT4 hybridding came around. :D

GT5 could offer that from the beginning IMO

That Scion looks mad but it was the fastest FF car at the time attack ;). I would like to know how much was down to the front wing though.

how about a setup like that on your FF car in gt5 :P

Probably quite significant to all the negatives, like the higher centre of gravity, the possible restricted vision, the extra drag and the fact it looks funny. Its quite far out from the car, that induced a bigger moment.

I watched the 1080p trailer on PS3 frame by frame.

I noticed names printed on the tires.

There are,

- SCORPION (from the Subaru)
- POTENZA (forgot which car)
- GOOD YEAR (from the NASCAR)

I hope we have real brand tires in game with deformation.

about tuning..
yesterday night i didn't sleep ahahahahahah i'm becaming mad me too..

i were thinking about livery editor...
i feel also this that there will be at 90%... in a old picture that we know very well already, it shows colouring/livery editor... so also if this were planned for another game, i thought gt vision, the yamauchi brain think about this, so the thinking remain also if the game will be called in any different name, and in a older 2008 interview they ask about livery editor specifically and he answer yes without doubt...
so i'm betting my ass that we will have a sort of livery editor in gt5...

I hope tyres are rated in the following categories then:
Dry weather grip
Wet weather grip
Braking performance
Endurance
Warm-up time

For simplicity I kinda hope off road tyres are all the same.:dunce:

By factory kits only, I meant subtle modifications such as splitters & spoilers.

When you go into full on kits, it gets messy.

well, some aerodynamic-race Proven aftermarket/Factory bodykits would be a simply awesome addition to the game, if the car doesnt have any bodykit, then the aerodynamic thing should be solved with splitters/canards, so I dont believe that AeroParts/Bodykits will be Messy.

atm, i think that gt5 only needs that and a livery editor to be just perfect:dopey:

Well, i dont think we actually have to discuss this at all, coz it has already been in previous GT-games...

The only thing related to this, thats interesting to me is tyre wear. Damn i hope they will include that (everything else would be a joke anyway for a so called simulation and Benchmark)
