Polyphony Digital's racing simulator Gran Turismo 4 has slipped to a 2004 release in the United States, according to Sony Computer Entertainment America representatives. Though it was given a winter release date upon its announcement earlier this year, GT4's release is now TBA 2004.
The GT series has always been a bit twitchy as far as release dates are concerned -- Polyphony's last two racers slipped significantly from their initially-announced dates. However, Sony Computer Entertainment will apparently have an announcement regarding specific release dates shortly.
When that announcement arrives -- likely around the time of TGS next week -- we'll pass it on directly.
TGS stands for Tokyo Game Show. We'll have to wait a week and see what the deal is. I'm hoping that the Japanese release date is sometime in mid-october. I'll be in Japan then and I'll head to Akihabara to grab a copy. mmm mmm good.
