Currently using a GT force(the GT3 official wheel) for gt5p. I know its old and all that but it's killing me so looking to invest in the g25.

Anyone know of a decent price for it. Best i can get so far is £150 delivered. Is this going to be the best i can get it for.

Plus how much better is the g25 compared to the DF GT??

Cheers

If I was you, do not buy open box item, especially with product that you will use a lot. I have a G25 for over a year now, and still works fine, but shifter became bit clumsy, as well, wheel just don't feel like brand new. But it still has no Problems what so ever, but there are many people that always something did not work. I use it both on PC sim racing (which even has stronger feedback) and GT5P and GT4.
So maybe save up a bit more and get a BRAND new one, that way you will always have warranty and worry free.

Cheers for the response!
I forgot i had a load of copies of xp home lying around so i've sold them on ebay and went for the brand new one!! paid 146 for it from dabs and now just waiting for them to confirm the order.

Can't wait - hopefully raced my last race with a joypad(i have a blister on my left thumb from too much racing last night)

Congratulations on your G25 purchase. Be patient, it may take you a while to get up to speed with the G25.

You should see the callous I have on my thumbs from using the G25 - still, better than blisters... :ouch:

Congratulations on the Purchase. Good you got a new wheel, you will get that FRESH feeling once you open it!
Yes it will take some time so don't give up, remeber fastest way to learn with the wheel is to have all AIDS off, and preferably to drive on PRO physics mode. ABS, you can leave it on. As well don't forget yo turn CLUTCH on you would have to press Triangle button on G25 shifter pad when ever you drive a car (once AI gives you the controls at beginning of each race) (its the really top black button).

HAVE FUN and good luck! It will add 50 % of realisim and 100% of fun!

Well got this last night. Did a silly thing though. Set wheel driving aids to on and FFB to 10.

Now my arms hurt!! Made things very difficult - switched them off and toned down FFB to 5 and now things are much better. Just got to get used to the 900 degree ability of the wheel as i'm finding i'm over correcting myself but i guess that will come with time.
I'm already within a couple of secs off my best pad times so i'm hopeful for the future but i really need to make a stand as the laptop stand i'm using at the minute now wobbles all over the place!!

The missus is very bemused that i'm taking over the telly and has proclaimed me a geek a number of times!!!

I've 'made the switch' just like you safc. I got my G25 in January and have lost a bit of time due to the difference between the wheel and the pad.

Before I even used the wheel I decided to make a colapsable stand for it. I drew it up went down to the DIY shop and had it made within a day.

You would not believe the amount of stick my missus gives me!

@ Nox, I turned the physics to Simulation, does this make a difference? I haven't found anything to explian what each of the settings do.

I think DFP(g25) settings are always on Simulation because it is Gray Out when you want to choose sim mode or not. So I do not think it makes any difference.. But yeah always keep it on Sim level, just to be sure. The Power Assists, or whatever it was called (have to re-check) It says it helps you to turn smoother, just like real cars have power assists, but I always have it OFF, it does not really help me.

Only difference is the Standard mode and Professional mode.

Bought the G25 an hour ago. The best norwegian price was from www.komplett.no wich had 24% off (omg)

That's //1899,- NOK / 274,50 USD / 191,13 GBP//
Original prices is on 2,4k NOK wich is 241,32 GBP or 346,60 USD

Welcome to Norway the most expensive country evah. ? :)

Just got one last nite from someone for $100 fresh. I really don't like the shifter though I can anyone tell me how to get it sturdy (racesimcentral) isn't open anymore
