Couple of questions about the race tomorrow guys.
Car performance is set to equal. Though I had a set up for the Mclaren and have now done one for the Mercedes. Which car is the 'equal' performance based on? I have set my gearing for the Mercedes, but if the 'equal' setting is based on a Red Bull am I going to find my car bouncing off the limiter in top gear half way down the straight? Could it effect other settings as well such as downforce etc?
We do get to qualify I suppose (20mins?) so will have to use that time to play with set up if necessary.
Just wondering if I'm wasting my time getting a set up I'm happy with before tomorrow?

Hi Demon, I have been trying to get grafpt to update his tote board to reflect the most current car drivers and since post #81 & #85 I have been stating that since no one had the Mercedes I would take it, since the misunderstanding about the Force India hasn’t even been corrected yet I gave up on trying to make my case for that car and looked at what wasn’t taken and since as of Post #81 I feel that I have rights to it.

If i was you, i would turn all assists off. With TC on the races are going to end up very predictable with rarely anyone binning their car

With TC off, you know someone in front can spin out quite easily and you have a chance of gaining a few extra points should they do so 👍

I agree jerry, but there are a few people who would like them on so we have to be fair. If it gets voted to non those people might have to practice a little. Personally I think its border line cheating and cause people to have huge advantages over other drivers.

When I run without TC online (for the quick 3 lap GP events) I have little choice but to take corners too gingerly for my personal liking, even though I really tr to keep my pace as high as possible since there are always a few drivers who are very competitive (including me). But what the No TC rule would do is mean that the win could go down to how few mistakes people make rather than outright pace and clever pit strategy. And since the cars are equal, the winner should be the one with the best pace overall.

That is my take on it, give the option for Medium TC (full would make it too easy) or TC off. (And besides, TC off with the marshmallow Dualshock 3 Triggers is not the easiest thing to do.)

I play with pad. I don't see myself getting a wheel untill around Christmas time, and I really can't keep my car from spinning without tc on medium. The exit of a corner all you have to do Is accelerate out to fast and you're facing the wrong way.

What I have read is that the goofy D’pad (sorry to diss your toy) is just unmanageable trying to shift, brake, gas, turn, hold your line, it’s just a cluster F. The cars are two demanding on full bare back except for some ( here we go w/ the dissing again …. Lol) poindexter gaming freakazoid. I just don’t know what to tell you, either you give a little to get a little or it’s hardcore and non yielding for the D’padders. I guess you could have a league that doesn’t have any D’padders and you wouldn’t have to worry about it, but I don’t think your series will have enough time just being held on the weekends to really be a power house, because when the big elephant shows up, I think this game will have a very limited following and I think you would want people to think about your events as fun for everyone.

Peter- you seem awesome buddy and id love to rac with you on here and GT5, but iv had the date up since the original post lol I have to say unless others agree, you will forfit your points for this week. Quite a few people have chosen to dedicate time for this and I really dont want to tell them that im changing the date. There are 20 races, and im assuming your a great driver and will be some competition so points wont be an issue.

I also want to get as many races in before the mighty GT5 comes out. So delaying would hurt the series.

GT5 coming out won't cause any problems with the F1 2010 championship. Unless there's people saying "I can't make it tonight, GT5's just so much fun!!!" which I doubt would happen, even for a game like GT5. But, It's understandable. I'll have my work cut out for the rest of the season, gaining back the points disadvantage from missing the first race.

Also, about the TC, having the best pace is what should define good results in this championship rather than making the least mistakes, but to have the best pace, you must make as few mistakes as possible, and i'd love for a challenge. Traction control really made the old F1:CE championship a bit boring, and made good results be defined entirely by fast pace, and mistakes were almost impossible to make. However, as there are pad users among us, I guess we should go ahead with traction control on medium. Is there a low setting for TC?

maybe for the 1st season, you guys should do around 30% just to get everyone used to racing pace and race time, server setup, etc.

If you have a wheel and pedals, you shouldn't use any AIDS .

Because this retarded piece of crap game hasn't counted his 3rd sector and placed him in the #1 spot. I traded the game in this morning actually. There's just too many issues.

The PS3 has the best chat room because as people come into it everyone who is monitoring or hanging out in it can see any activity occurring in as long as you are logged into it.

Yesterday when I was doing some practice runs w/ others in a private lobby I noticed an obvious indicator and that is the drivers point rating. I’m not sure how these points are increased except by podiums, I think. So I just started thinking “where have I seen this used before?” Well it was the scoring system we used to have for moto-x, Novice, Ameture, and Expert. I also noticed that these criteria can be filtered when the races are setup. It was also obvious that the guy that just roostyd the group had a rather high number value. Maybe there could be divisions using this point rating system to keep the ringers raceing w/ each other, Food for thought….
