MegaJoshh-
My theory for Need For Speed Underground 3: It will be released on the next set of consoles released ( "PS4" and "XBOX 720" ) and never on current consoles.

My theory is: Current games consoles do not have enough RAM (5XX MB on current consoles) to incorporate the wide variety of body-kits, speakers, hydraulics, vinyls, and all the other junk that was in NFSU:2 as well as load the world map - and keep them all running smoothly at the same time - as well as keep them up to PS3 standards.

I Think: PS2 was able to do it a lot easier because everything was such low detail and offline, WAY smaller file sizes and many other tiny reasons.

Next generation consoles will have 8GB of RAM or possibly even 16GB (doubtful though), therefore it will finally have the potential to bring Need For Speed: Underground up to current gaming standards.

These are just my theories, feel free to post your own ideas :)

My theory? Forget the Underground series, if they haven't made a sequel back then then for sure that they would never do that in 2013 or later.

Midnight Club: LA ran fine on the current gen consoles, so I don't see why Underground 3 would be any different.

But they did! Most Wanted & Carbon are sequels w/e to the Underground games. Most Wanted is basically Underground 3 & Carbon Underground 4. Just because they were named differently doesn't make them not part of the Underground series.

You are so wrong buddy, Most Wanted is the sequel of Carbon and Most Wanted didn't had anything to do with UG at all.

*facepalm* If you remember in Most Wanted that guy in the GTO said "Got tired of the Underground?" Clear reference. Then Carbon the sequel to MW completely ties every game together. Dude, it's a series. Go replay them all in order because it's all apart of the same story line. Underground > Underground 2 > Most Wanted > Carbon

As well as mentioned "Look at what the Underground brought up", Rog also mentions near the end of the story that people "as far as Bayview" are placing bets on the Player versing Razor.

Underground 1 -> Carbon are all directly related to each other. As is ProStreet and Undercover (at one point in Undercover police chatter mentions a "Ryan Cooper" refusing to take off his helmet). However, I don't think the Underground series and the PS/UC are directly related. They might be in the same game universe, but not the same plot.

What he said. You can YouTube every single cut scene from all the games if you don't believe us.

This is what tied the 4 games together: (aside from the end part, the cutscene predates UG1) YouTube Link

Underground and Underground 2 have no relation to Most Wanted, Carbon, or Undercover. Yeah, he said "Look what the underground brought up," but this is saying actual underground racing and not the games, though I'm also thinking it's kind of a hat-tip to the older games. Most Wanted is a whole different story, with Carbon and Undercover continuing that story. Look anywhere on the Internet and it says that Underground 2 is not followed by anything chronologically, while MW is followed by Carbon and then by Undercover. Simple.

My god! UG1 to Carbon was the series. Undercover was standalone. You have to be blind to not see that. You are the same guy in every game HELL I believe the guy wears the same clothes for 4 games straight.

UG started off as just a random game with no intentions to have a stoyline going on for four games but BB adapted it to that.
