CER was going well for me, but killed all my progress due to a distraction :banghead:. But still, I-m happy that the pace is better.
Skipped Poland but gearing up for the Ceredigion Rally :D
Here a few shots from CER

A very bitty rally for me, I was making small tweaks at each service but I never got settled... too many instances of understeering off the road/into a ditch + oversteer on braking which I couldn't quite dial out, I'm rather fortunate I managed to pip Sharky in the end.

@Speedster502 hopefully that leg gets better soon!

Got my Poland run finished up last night. Really enjoy those stages so it was all good. Last stage felt excellent, right up untill the 2nd from last corner, I overcooked it and sent myself into a bush and stalled the car. Got the engine back on, reversed back on to the road, took a right hander and crossed the flying finish... Fabia Evo felt good, and ended up P4 at the end which im pleased with for sure. Some very close times throughout the event which made for some good racing. Thanks Speedster502, look forward to continuing to compete here!

A fast paced rally saw for some close battles across the field! @Ali ended up being victorious even with a change of machinery to the Citroen!

Unfortunately I bowed out early from this one, I can't use the sim-rig at the moment so I'm trying to be vaguely competitive on a controller...alas it's not going well 😅 I called time on my effort around SS6 after trailing the pack by 7 minutes.

@Dreadmed see's his overall championship lead extend further, now leading with 53 points. His closest rival being @bozian with 33 points! It's all to play for across the final 3 rounds of the championship.

Round 5. Rali Ceredigion
The jewel in the BRC's crown. This rally is split into two legs, just like how it was done in 2024 (ironically, it's not doing it this year!). Our first leg sees us travel to Corsica which will not doubt split competitors - a challenging route lies ahead with some long stages in the second day of running.

We get started with two relatively (for Corsica anyway) short stages on the first day running into the dusk before the proper action kicks off the following day with 2 loops of 3 stages. I'm sure the inclusion of the 29.2km Asco will cause some headaches!

The total competitive distance for this round is 84.6km.

Leg 1
Afternoon Service (Long)
SS1 - Serra Di Cuzzioli - 7.7km
SS2 - Maririe - 8.5km

Leg 2
Morning Service (Long)
SS3 - Ravin de Finelio 1 - 9.5km
SS4 - Asco 1 - 29.2km
SS5 - Cabanella 1 - 10.1km
Midday Service (Long)

SS6 - Ravin de Finelio 2 - 9.5km
SS7 - Asco 2 - 29.2km
SS8 - Cabanella 2 - 10.1km
Finish

Top ten in Poland, I'll take that

After seeing the (round 4) leaderboard I went with the Citroen instead of the Yaris. So many Skodas and Toyotas in this rally :P.

I had a pretty major moment at the end of stage 5. I guess I just misjudged the corner entry, lost control, picked up a corner cut penalty in the next corner and then took a closer look at the scenery. I was sure I was going to hit a tree and end my rally there. Thankfully I only hit a ditch and escaped without any major damage, although I wasn't able to completely fix my car in the next service.

@Speedster502
Am I allowed to swap cars?
Yup, no problem with that. Obviously, from a consistency perspective it's nice to have people stick with the same one but even real BRC competitors chop and change. I might even swap from the Hyundai to the more controller-friendly Fiesta or Yaris for the current round.

ABR-1 Team Statement - April 20th 2025

Following round 4 of the BRC, ABR-1 Motorsport have made the decision to part ways with MEM (Melvyn Evans Motorsports) and Yuasa (title sponsor) to pursue a more competitive end to the season. The R5 Polo has been prepared to the highest of standards but unfortunately has lacked competitiveness.

Team boss and driver A.Butler had this to say; "We're proud to have worked with MEM and Yuasa this season, their professionalism and commitment to success has always aligned with our values, however the competitive nature of the Polo R5 is lacking and we must look elsewhere for a strong end to this season and build into the next campaign".

ABR-1 have subsequently partnered with M-Sport and will run an ex-Adrien Formaux, Rally2 spec Ford Fiesta which he piloted to the BRC crown in 2023 alongside Alex Coria.

M-Sport had this to say in a connecting statement: "We are delighted to welcome ABR-1 Motorsport into the M-Sport family. We hope we can help them achieve their goals of moving forwards in the British Rally Championship. They will use an existing chassis for the remainder of this season before we build an all new chassis for them for the next season".

Butler will debut his new Fiesta at Rali Ceredigion this week.

In another development it was reported that Teo Martín Motorsport, who recently partnered with Repsol, have had their Madrid premises broken into.

Further investigation discovered that the Toyota Yaris WRC2 they were hoping to race this season had been stolen along with it's transporter.

Police are baffled at the present time. In a statement they said "Unfortunately this seems to have been quite a professional though bizarre robbery. Professional in the context that there was no signs of an obvious break-in which points to an inside job, and bizarre in the context that in reality the only clue we have to go on, is that in the place of the Toyota, the thieves had replaced it with a very dirty and battered VW Polo rally car which had obvious signs of misuse and was no use to anyone. The only other tangible clue is the colour of the VW which appears to have been adorned with multiple decals of the word POLO so maybe that's an indication as to the identity of the previous owners. Other than that, our investigations are ongoing".

In a further statement from Teo Martín Motorsport.
Alejandro Cachón (DRIVER): “I was very happy to be able to announce this great project in which Toyota and Repsol would have returned to the World Rally Championship, I had been very excited and looking forward to this year and giving everything in WRC2. Unfortunately this theft has left me incredibly sad and I question the morals of the perpetrators as I won't be able to compete in the remnants of the vehicle they left behind".

BREAKING NEWS

In the latest development to this story, Police have released this statement.

"Sightings have been reported in Corsica of a Toyota Yaris matching descriptions of one recently stolen in Madrid and photographs have been submitted as evidence. Using forensic evaluation of the photos we believe this to be the same car. It is obvious the criminals have attempted to disguise the identity of the car by adding some fictitious sponsor liveries to the bodywork. Also they changed the number plate and added a fake Monte Carlo rally sticker to the sides. As this sighting coincides with a local rally event, we will therefore be attending this event so we can pull the driver in for questioning. We are liaising with the FIA at this time. We urge the public to contact us with any more information and publish two pictures for reference. We also believe the VW Polo that was left behind in Madrid belonged to a UK based driver so we will be contacting them in due course.

Well. I decided to tackle it all in one sitting.
After evading the police who sneakily turned up at the start ( see the above story lol ) I got sorted of robbed myself. I swapped to the hard tyre before the shakedown in order to gain an extra set for later on but it didn't give me any for some reason, meaning I had over 60 miles to do on one set ( stages 3 - 8 ). The softs were quite snatchy on stage 1 and 2, I did end up on my side at one point needing a reset but was mid pack on those two.

Stage 3, Ravin de Finelio felt a lot better on the hard tyres and I found myself with a 4th quickest time.

Stage 4, Asco was pretty daunting as some of those drops at the side of the road were trying to invite me for a quick trip down into the valley and it's a looong stage but I kept my nerve and rhythm to get a provisional 2nd quickest time. ( I do realise that quite a few drivers suffered DNF looking at the standings though, so my elevated position is slightly artificial ). I did notice a bit of stuttering in the town leading to an odd sensation from inside the cockpit.

Stage 5, Cabanella, being the last third of the Asco stage was a welcome relief from the twisty rocky bits but there's still a few parts than can catch you out.

At the service halt I had a fair bit of wear across the different parts but not excessive. Obviously I had no hard tyres left so stuck with the worn set, didn't want to risk rain tyres going off through the second run through Asco. The hards weren't too bad until Cabanella 2 where they were a little loose.

At the finish, and in the current standings I've got 3 stage wins and 2 second quickest. I'm not fooling myself however, as there's a lot of drivers yet to set stage times, and some have suffered incidents, so my lofty position is flattering me somewhat.

Overall I quite enjoyed this one as Corsica isn't one of my go-to locations.

And I got away from the officials who were looking for the car, it was too dirty to identify lol ( you must think I'm a nutter )

A certain adage is most relevant here; "To finish first you first have to finish."

I could probably count the number of times I've cleanly finished an event at Corsica on one hand, I've seen more than a couple aliens also send it off the road. As of this post 15 drivers have started and (correct me if I'm wrong) you're the only one to finish so far that hasn't been brought back on a tow truck!

I finished the rally later on last night too, not without incident though! Lost about a minute with a weird puncture on stage 3, I was driving along minding my own business when the game decided I was too close to the cliffside and gave me a front right puncture. No idea why and I didn't see what I hit, a very confusing incident.

Managed to finish the stage without stopping to change the wheel though and the rest of the rally was basically incident free. Pretty happy with that as I didn't expect to finish this one.

A very solid rally by myself, with a bit of luck as in SS4 I had 2 very big moments where for some reason the car miraculously stayed on the road:scared:, plus 2 punctures changed on SS5. Sadly I went off in SS7 [In a very stupid place with just a little downhill close to a river, after the section with the big red metal structure]. Made some great runs still [especially the night stage :D].
Sad that it should end here. Hope to redeem myself in the next one :gtpflag:

Ugh... I just wanted to have a clean run after 2 weeks of totally blowing it, and I... didn't exactly, with some minor moments where I tripped over a little stone at the edge or a little brush with a guardrail, but it was going pretty okay and I was actually kinda enjoying parts of this rally even though I don't like tarmac much.

Unfortunately, this is the worst performing rally I've found on my Xbox, as basically any stage with the village section has framerate issues ranging from minor but enough to feel a little off and be a little jarring, to full on "okay what the ****" distracting. It stayed as a minor annoyance up through the 2nd run through Asco where it got pretty bad near the village, a little better until the 2nd village where it got bad again, then a little better until I crossed the finish line where it instantly went back to perfectly smooth. The actual bad framerate bits I was able to survive, but unfortunately my internal monologue grumbling about it distracted me into making a few other little mistakes and close calls... but still, didn't die.

Started the final stage, all I gotta do is finish... and like a minute into it had the dumbest little understeer moment and barely tipped over the edge.

Threw it off the cliff on Stage 3, repaired at service, rejoined for stage 6, threw it off the same cliff.

🤬

@Morbid65 I had the same issue in the village on Ascos. First run was fine but on the second run it went a bit weird through the buildings and then sorted itself out once back in the countryside.

Challenging, exhausting, but also very satisfying: that's how I can summarise my Rally Corsica / Ceredigion (Leg 1). I changed my approach somewhat and focussed on a clean driving style. I had to force myself to do it at first, but eventually it clicked. After the disappointment in Poland, I'm very happy with this rally. Apart from one junction where I drove in too fast and picked up a few scratches, the rally was completely faultless. Probably not always as fast as it could have been, but my mechanics should be pleased...

Full credit to those who can drive fast on a game pad. I just can't get to grips with it here and desperately wishing I was more competitive...and back in my sim-rig 😅

I switched to the Fiesta for the Rali Ceredigion but have had a fairly torrid time so fair. A double puncture on SS1 means I'm well and truly trailing. Will be hoping to just get to the end without throwing it off a cliff too often.

I think that was either the first or second club event in Corsica I have actually finished with 0 retirements by the end! I always get caught out by a misheard call on one of the narrow cliff corners, but not this time!

After running a test at Grampian forest in a loaned Skoda evo, I managed to secure a more permenant seat in the i20 N for Ceredigion and Cambrian Rally. The setup made in shakedown felt good right off the bat so we went with it. Ss1 got off to a rocky start after colliding with a rockface, over a crest 1km from the finish, caused an engine stall and puncture. As well as the time lost, it also knocked my confidence pushing during the first loop. After settling in and surviving the first of the 29km stages, my confidence grew and by the 2nd run of Asco I shaved 16s off the previous pass, the uptick in pushing and the unfortunate retirements of other drivers meant by the end of ss5 i moved into P3 and managed to hold the position for a podium (for now). Had a good battle with @SharkyOB for a couple of the stages, but ultimately I couldnt match their pace and the gap widened for a chance at P2. Sadly no pictures as my bindings are borked after a fresh windows install. Hope to have some for the next round, sporting the Breen Foundation Livery. Good race all, see you on the 2nd leg!

Leg 1 of Rali Ceredigion completed and @bozian takes the points! As usual Corsica proves to be a challenge with some big gaps throughout the field (bar a particularly close fight for second between Cudeiro & @SharkyOB!).

The results of this round also mean that yet another manufacturer takes a win this season! Hyundai, Citroen, and Toyota are on one win each, and Ford leads the way with two wins. In a championship where I expected the Toyota's to be so dominate it's great to see such variety in the competition!

With only two rounds to go in the championship the title fight is getting closer! @bozian (61 points) moves ahead of @Dreadmed (53 points). After a strong performance in Ceredigion @SharkyOB has also climbed into a good position with a total of 42 points and within striking distance of the top two!

Round 6. Rali Ceredigion (Leg 2)
The jewel in the BRC's crown. This rally is split into two legs, just like how it was done in 2024 (ironically, it's not doing it this year!). With the first leg in Corsica completed we're heading to a Monte-Carlo for quick blast of five stages.

Watch out for that weather though! Those who watched the Rali Ceredigion last year should know what to expect...

The total competitive distance for this round is 35.8km.

Afternoon Service (Long)
SS1 - Ancelle - 8km
SS2 - Parbiou - 6.2km
Midday Service (Long)

SS3 - Ancelle - 8km
SS4 - Parbiou - 6.2km
SS5 - Le Champ - 7.4km

Happy for my first win! :)
Although a bit bittersweet because neither @Dreadmed nor @Ali took part, so I am not sure what my drive was worth really
Congrats to everybody who made it to the end!
Crazily close gap between P2 and P3 :D

I'm fairly sure you would've had the better of me regardless, I would've been in maximum safety mode to try to make it to the end unscathed!

I'm more than happy with my run through wet MC, aside from outbraking myself a couple of times I don't think I could've gone much quicker without snagging the rock walls/street furniture. That flat-out downhill section at the back-end of Parbiou is a white-knuckle experience in the wet...

Well, that went to poo real quick. Stage 1 was all fine and dandy then I was going through the last quick switchbacks that come before it opens up on the way past the car park near the end. I caught a bank and it knocked me wide . Sideways into a tree and blew 3 tyres at once. I managed to limp the end but unfortunately I would have had to do stage 2 with no tyres on the right hand side so I was forced to retire to the next day.
I'm a bit miffed cos stages 3 to 5 weren't so bad but that's the way it goes. Here's a few shots
