Introduction
Hello everyone! If you're a Beginner that's just updating the Need For Speed World client, this guide can help you startup quickly (I hope) as possible. This is my first ever guide and I might do something wrong. If you played either Need For Speed Most Wanted or Need For Speed Carbon, You'll notice the map will feel familiar. The whole map is made up of Palmont City (NFSC) and Rockport (NFSMW1). The only thing different with the maps are there's no canyons in Palmont City (Implementing this in the future) and parts of Rockport is currently closed off as of February 21, 2014 because of development.

How to play
First rule of NFSW is avoid crashing. Crashing WILL, I repeat WILL make you slow down to the point that going 200 KM/h will make you drop down to 50 KM/h. Use the brakes, or if you're willing taking some risks and make yourself look awesome, the E-Brake (We'll cover that later). Braking is your best friend in NFSW and trust me, you'll use it often. Apply too much brakes will cause you to waste time. Too little can make you crash.
Second rule is try not to use too much of your Power-ups. Only use them in emergencies like if you're in the back of the pack or trapped in the middle of four cops. Saving them is the key to saving your Speedboost (If you frequently restock on Power-ups), and not being called a Power-up spamming noob.
Speedboost and In-Game Cash
Cash is the In-Game currency you use to buy Performance parts, Vinyls, Skills and Paint Jobs, etc. You start out with $200k ($200,000) cash to buy a new car and kind of get some upgrades. Speedboost is the Premium currency of NFSW and can buy Card Packs, Premium Cars, Pre-Tuned Cars, Body kits, Spoilers and Neons. The last time I checked, Canada can't get Speedboost via offers. You get 100 Speedboost later on in the game.
Types of players in NFSW
There are a few types of players in NFSW that you need to know about:
Normal Racers
These racers are just normal. Nothing abnormal about them.
T-Maggers
These racers are the most annoying type of racers and will spam the Traffic Magnet and the Ready! power-up until they get first place. The only counter to them is the Shield power-up or just dodge the traffic.
Rammers
The second most annoying type of racers are rammers. The name's self-explanatory. They ram you to the side of the wall until you give up your position. Don't fight back because you'll hurt your current speed more than the other player.
Quitters
Again, self-explanatory. They quit the race as soon as they get into a serious crash. No actual damage except it'll make the game boring.
Performance Parts
Performance parts has a system. The Overall system calculates how good your car runs and gives you an overall rating from 1 to 999. The system separates the ranks down to 6 classes:
E Class: 1-200 The worst class. This is where you start, unless you buy some Speedboost and get a car in a higher class.
D Class: 200-300
C Class: 300-500
B Class: 500-700
A Class: 700-800
S Class: 900-999 The Maximum class. You can't go higher than this.
(The Performance points placement might be wrong. I never got to check how much there actually is.)
The color of the part shows you what type of bias they put on their parts. For instance: Green focuses in Speed while Red focuses on Handling. Blue on the other hand focuses on Acceleration and Yellow is the balance for all three. There's also quality of the part, which shows you how the part performs. Certain companies make better quality parts. The companies Dawndraft, Amerikon Speedsystems, Nova-T and Omnia Racegruppe are the bottom and has the worst quality parts and the only companies you can buy parts from. The rest, you have to earn it through achievements or by getting First place in races and getting parts out of the cards. This list shows you the Companies gives better quality parts:
Street Class
Amerikon Speedsystems: Balanced
Dawndraft: Acceleration
Nova-T: Handling
Omnia Racegruppe: Speed
Royal Purple: ??? (Only makes engines and found only in Pre-modded cars and some car editions)
Race Class*
Gromlen: Balanced
Kestel: Acceleration
Richter: Handling
Norset: Speed
Pro Class*
Medion: Balanced
Velocicom: Aceleration
Ventura: Handling
URSA Motorsport: Speed
Ultra Class*
Transtek: Balanced
Zero Tuning Mods: Acceleration
Attack Motorsport: Handling
Speedsciens: Speed
*Can only be earned by achievements and the Card System
Breaking down the card system
The cards in Need For Speed World can be bought, or earned by placing in the podium. There are standard card packs. There is Bronze, Silver and Gold card packs when you place in the podium. The Silver card packs has at least one performance part inside one of the cards, while the Gold card pack has at least two performance parts. You can buy card packs in your safehouse. The card packs that you can buy isn't limited to just three types here. You can buy a card pack which every card rewards a car. Or maybe you want some more aftermarket parts, which you choose by buying the Car Style card pack. There are tons of card packs. To go more in-depth in the card system of Need For Speed, go to this link: http://nfsworld.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Pack.
Skill Mods
Skill mods works almost like performance parts. Apply them to any vehicle and they do their stuff once you apply it. Skill mods can give you more money in certain types of events, give more tire grip while drag racing and detect cops in a bigger search radius. Just like performance parts, higher tier Skill mods can only be acquired by Card packs. The weakest Skill mods are always available in your safehouse. A maximum of 5 skill mods can be applied to each car. Skill mods are also stackable. That means, multiple Skill mods can work together, no matter what tier it is. There are 26 types of skill mods available in Need For Speed World. Most skill mods are available as a Tier 1 skill mod at the safehouse.
Car Editions
I won't cover all of the details here because most players don't really use real money in games. Car Editions will feature certain cars in a different way. For example, there's a "Snowzilla" version of the Nissan GT-R in game and an "Elite" version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, which turn it into a cop car. There are seven major car editions in game. The car editions are:
Normal/Stock cars: Nothing special about them.
"Cop" Edition: Cars that are turned into cop cars and equipped with Cop vinyls, and usually Gromlen performance parts.
"Team Escape" Edition: Cars that are made to bust through road blocks. Usually comes equipped with Gromlen performance parts, 2-Star Pursuit skill mods and some aftermarket parts.
"Treasure Hunter" Edition: Cars tuned to make treasure hunting easier by equipping Gromlen performance parts, and the Treasure Hunter skill mods.
"Elite" Edition: Similar to the "Cop" edition cars, except these cars equipped with 2-Star mixed manufacturer performance parts.
"Drag Racer" Edition: Self explanatory name. These cars are made to drag race. Equipped with Drag racing skill mods and Gromlen Performance parts.
"Best in Class" edition: These cars are tuned to the max. They're equipped with Ultra mixed manufacturer performance parts.
Achievements
Achievements are a good way to start off with a huge boost. It can give you performance parts, special edition cars, card packs and a ton more stuff. Achievements need you to do certain things to finish. There's collecting cars, going through x amount of road blocks, and more. All achievements give you an Achievement Badge and Driver Points.
Go out there, and beat everyone you race with!
