Glad they added in some new special events! 👍
Well... Those special events where launched together with bonus pack 3 on PC...

But on consoles some users (me included) reclaim them a lot off times opening treads, quoting devs and community maneger till we finally achieve that the team has seen that those 11 special events where still missing on console version...

There's still stuff missing and a lot to fix .. But I think that it's now finished...
We where already warned with the 1.21 update that it would be the last and end of support..

So the 1.22 patch is a little victory for some of us.

Awesome! Today is also the day I'm expecting delivery of my rig...so now I need to make it through the rest of the work day and get home ASAP lol

I would like an explanation from them on why they have made zero effort to fix the kick feature and the limbo bug. Or an acknowledgement that they know about it. Even Stefano Casillo said that is not a good situation. These are two massive problems that should not have been ignored.

Stefano didn't appear on the console section of the forum since months now .. And it's very hard to make you being listen...
And with the kick feature and limbo problems, G29 Dor issues and others.. But yes, an explanation of the team would be very welcomed, because most issues and bugs have been reported patch after patch trough the 3 diferents oficial ways that 505Games made..

Quite spectacular list.. More after that Marco and Stefano before the launch of the console version said in a few interview that the console version would be the same as the PC version with a new IU console friendly and no mod support as only differences..

Hopefully if they port ACC to the console, It will be a "full port" this time ...

Even with all that , we have a little gem on the console giving us a great driving experience with the best FFB there is now for now on consoles.

The issue I miss more on PS4 is: "-Apps and ability to personalize HUD" and of course. the lack of Mods usage.. :(.. oh and also.. of course the impossibility to use Simracing System... https://www.carthrottle.com/post/4999zpg/

I agree with the list @Donnced posted, but mods and SRS are not Kunos fault as Sony won't allow those 3rd party apps we have on PC.
I'm now at around 400 tracks and 700 cars it's great to have that, but not all the mods are well done.
The biggest game changer was SRS.
I really wish Sony would allow that to slide through for console hopefully the new included rating system with ACC is comparable or improved.

That would be direct competition to Sony´s GTS... and I guess that would be like shooting their own feet . with a shot gun...

The AI slider for speed is needed in my case. The medium setting they're too slow for me, & the hard setting they're too fast; making the game unplayable. The strangest thing is I have a friend who has the PC version & he can keep up with the AI set to max, & he's the same speed as me! Something is very hinky...

Yes the AI pace was absurd on PS4 at anything above medium for me.
I can say definitively after untold hours on the PS4, and about 50 hours on PC that they are faster on console.
I still can't keep up set to Alien but can usually podium on Hard.

The best AI that I have ever raced is RFACTOR2 if your friend has that I highly suggest you give it a go.
It is incredible how human they are with blocking, overtaking and fighting for positions amongst each other it's often fun to just watch replays of them.

Timed races too. I honestly didn't expect them to add half the stuff you listed. But I did expect them to add features they worked on after console release or just before console release. Also I expected a better UPD as Stefano said ( I believe he said it to you?) it was not that difficult to do.

With that said, the game has been left in a good stare for me to enjoy for the life cycle of the PS4. Except for those 2 major issues which theres no getting away from.

I would really like a HUD options as sometimes I just want the rev counter or just the map during qualifying.

I find that its inconsistent across the board. Some car classes+tracks are a good challenge on medium, whilst too easy on others. On hard I'm often in a pack behind the first 6 leaders or out of the top 10. Which I really don't mind though as its the battles with other cars I enjoy.

Yup, Stefano once replied a petition from me to add UDP.

His answer was that it was factible as it is in the game code , that it should be easy to make it work on PS4 but not on Xbox one due "company policy "....

Which is completely nonsense , cause pcars 1,pcars 2,F1 2016 and 2017 got full UDP compatibility on PS4 and Xbox one ..

Finally one UDP app developer has seen that the PS4 send some data trough IP UDP but very limited (current time, lap, Tyre dirt, speed, rmp and that's about all)

So, excuses from Stefano or lazyness .. :odd:

All what is on the list could be easily implemented into the console version..

But like I said, for me it's a little gem we got on console even with all those missing things.

I hear this kinda thing at my job all the time, somebody wants something done and they think it should just take me a minute or two because Photoshop, "should be easy". 95% of the time they are far from correct and have underestimated the time required to complete said project by an order of magnitude.

I understand that Kunos has a small team, but really, when I see pcars 1 and 2 that both games got 99,9% all same things ported to console.

Well, it should be "easy"... Coding is never really easy, but the console is capable ..
I even remember that the pre alpha in the E3 got drag mode and strips, but they took it away on the Last minute... Stefano don't like that mode and he said once that if he could on PC version he would erase it also ....

Videos before the races of career mode...they aren't there because they didn't want, same for power grafs and car descriptions and lot of other things..

And if they really couldn't make a "proper" port they shouldn't have made the promise before launch that the game would be the same as PC version with an new IU and no mod support as only difference.. In my opinion

After the litany list of false promises by PD's Kaz and translator-san (the first 'mistake' may be genuine... the next dozen or so are deliberate if he didn't hire another translator-san if the first one got it wrong), how anyone can believe a word that comes out of a game developer's mouth is beyond me.

And actually, no... some of the things missing from the console versions of PC2 are the very things that prevent it from enabling easy casual racing... Text boxes, room titles, host options. So, even if 99.9% (and I rather doubt that), that 0.1% is the most crucial .1% in the game for opening up the game to a wider audience.

^ This.

Most people base an 'easy' expectation because other games succeed at adding the feature. Which, in fairness, isn't really wrong. If it CAN be done, if it HAS been done (in multiple games), it shouldn't really qualify as 'hard'.

The more salient point is, why wasn't the feature prioritized in the first place during development? If UDP was successful in pcars 1, pcars 2, F1 2016 and 2017, how hard could it be?

If someone comes in to your place of work, and ask you to Photoshop something that is commonplace to do in a timeframe that is commonly accepted, if you fail to do it or take an order of magnitude longer to do it, the blame rests squarely with you.

I still can't keep up set to Alien but can usually podium on Hard.

Would you be able to quantify this by looking at replay lap times? Same race, same AI settings, etc.. Both the AI lap times and your lap times.

There's always the possibility that some physics thing (or a mod thing) is simply allowing you to be faster on PC than console, leading to the same impression.

EDIT: mods... can't figure out how to erase this msg and merge it with the previous one. Please forgive the double post.

Mind you, completely different topic... :dunce:

Yeah, but not really. These guys have never made a console game before, so it would be more like walking up to a random office secretary who's never seen Photoshop before and asking her to adjust the curves and clone out an object in the background of a photo. All these features you whinge about are in the PC version and have been for quite a while, not to mention the dozens of features and functions that have been added post-release (most of which were requested by the community). So they are quite capable, but trying to force software that was never intended to work on consoles to have all the same features and functions as the PC version and have them work flawlessly on consoles, all by a very small team who has never worked on consoles before is a big ask and some corners will likely have to be cut, despite all the internet experts claiming all games are created equally and adding desired features is an easy task.

I can do this all day long, but fair warning, I've been in these pissing matches before and I've given three people enough rope to get themselves permanently banned from here, so tread carefully. :sly:

There's nothing wrong with asking a lot from a developer. It may not be easy for the developers but backlash is deserved when expectations aren't being met. AC is marketed as one product available on three platforms, but the truth is that AC is two products marketed under one name. Of course, there's room for subtle differences between versions of multi-platform titles, but AC really took it quite too far. Best driving experience on consoles? Arguably so, but that doesn't make differences between versions disappear.

LOL. You think there's no-one at Kunos that ever coded before? The rope is all yours, here.

I guess the concept of hiring people competent to code a racing game is also beyond Kunos's ability? That rope you are swinging from looks a little frayed. As I said, if other people can do something in a reasonable time frame and you can't, don't look to last long in a competitive business.
