Steam PC also in download (waiting) queue. PC Netherlands South ;)

Edit: downloaded a 1GB update for PC

Edit2: after DL first test race with a Nismo roadcar at Bannochbrae. The HUD tools bright crisp colors. That blue makes you want to wear an extra sweater. Nice improvement! Now figure our all the other new improved stuff.

Yeah that was the first thing i notice and i love the change :D:)

Haven't noticed too much difference yet. As said, tyre heat colours are more informative. I haven't seen a difference in the track limits or penalties - they're still there and still butt in, but without more detail I don't know what I should be looking for. Pity about that really. I hope the devs eventually explain exactly what they've done on the grapevine.

I did have an unusual quali bug that I've not had before though. Very first go since the update. I did half a lap and returned to pits, then the game froze. I had to restart it. That's new.

Could be wishful thinking but the end of quali hang hasn't happened... yet... :)

I feel slick compounds have become more forgiving. Cold tires do not seem quite as dangerous and warm tires bite like crazy. I can't say whether it's more realistic or not, but it's very difficult to kick out the rear in a fully warmed up GTE car with TC off. Maybe it's all placebo, but somehow I doubt it. The tire temperature HUD got an obvious color tweak, no doubt there.

Now I also find it easier to catch slides in any car using the DS4 controller. It feels more natural and rewarding to me.

The sound effect of driving in gravel got a reduction in volume? Now I can barely hear small stones hitting the car.

Some things I noticed that weren't fixed / optimized:
  • Still no option to enable a fully rotating steering wheel animation for pad users. :(
  • Still no full-length replays in Private Test mode.
  • Still no rear seat camera option for replays.
  • Frame stuttering still occurs in particular spots on some tracks with just one car on track (standard PS4).

I really want to give SMS the benefit of the doubt. And maybe it's just bad timing. But in my full lobby tonight, we had 6 disconnects, after a compete room restart. For a race that has been in the works for a while with a lot of effort put in beforehand to figure pits and all that, that's heart breaking. Enough sob I guess though.

Anyone else noticing more DCs than normal after the patch?

I gave up on multiplayer in PCars2 long ago. It's been incredibly unstable and buggy since the beginning, and the game design is very flawed as well.

Formula C slick tires feel good again in this patch, and they're better than the sport tires now.

Good to know, but is the engine volume still way too low?
