Updating to spec III ?

Hey guys, I'm new to the fourm and hope to stay around for awhile and contribute to the community ! First, let me introduce myself. My name is Johnathan, I live in Canada BC and I love the GT series ! Small introduction.

Anyways, on to my question. How would I update to Spec III ? I tried tonight, but I'm not sure if it worked or not because it didn't give me the 3 cars or the track. I went on "Update system" and updated from the internet. After all that waiting, I checked the dealerships and nothing. Everything was the same. Can someone help me on how to update to Spec III ? If someone could list the steps or something here, that would be much appericiated !!

Thanks, Johnathan.

System Update updates your system, not the game. You need to load the game while signed in to PSN and you should automatically be prompted to update the game.

Spec III doesn't contain any additional tracks but the additional cars are the Ferrari California, the Lotus Evora and the Citroen GT by Citroen. If you have these cars, you have Spec III already.

Is there anyway to get Spec III without logging into PSN ? To double check, PSN is the name you go online with, or the name of the account on the PS3 ?

I heard there was a Nurburing ? But I wasn't too sure about that.

No theres no Nürburgring and yes, you need to be signed in to the PSN.
PSN stands for PlayStation Network and is the online service of the PS3 (so not the user account).

Err... I think all that's required is that you load the game up while the console is connected to the internet. Since mine automatically logs into PSN and it has been a very long time since I last updated, I can't say for sure.

PSN = PlayStation Network. PSNID = the name you go online with. The name of the account on the PS3 has no bearing on anything.

Be sure. There isn't.

Many thanks for your quick replys. This has helped me very much, and I'll see if I can hook up to the internet.

Thanks everyone !

Edit: Got it all to work. Got online and everything. Love the new rides, but I had to reset my car settings =( Time to retune 24 cars...

I have a similar problem, i have the downloaded version of GT5P
is there a spec 3 update for that? i cant seem to get the update

If it wont download an update after booting the game up there is none.
Look in the main menu upper left corner, the version number is there (you could also check if theres a Ferrari California, Lotus Evore and GTbyCitroen and you can only play online when you have the latest patch).

If your problem is the inablility to completely download the Spec III update, I and several other people had the similar problem. I found the answer to this problem here. It is in the #9 post in this thread.

Hope this helps.
