Upgrading car

If you upgrade you car, do the upgrades stack or not?
What I mean is, for example, lets say I am tuning the engine. If I'm doing upgrade 1, then 2, then 3, will my engine have extra power 1 + 2 + 3 or will my engine just have the extra power of upgrade 3.

No.. as far as I know they do not stack.

So, it's more economic to unlock the highest upgrades and then just buy them, in stead of first upgrades 1, then upgrades 2, ...

Armor is the only thing that really can benefit you even it's only 10% ..
