About 3-4 years ago i purchased the Logitech Driving Force GT - wow, is it that long ago? anyway.

i bought it for approximately £60 (well before GT5 was released and it pretty much doubled in price, GT5 prologue was still knew on the scene), i am very happy with the wheel, but now that i am playing pc sim games i feel that the pedals especially are drawing away from the experience, so i was wondering would it be worth upgrading to a Logitech G27 wheel?

I choose that one specifically because on amazon it has recently had a large price drop, now only £177.99, and considering a rival of it the Thrustmaster T500rs is almost £400 not a hard decision between these 2.

only thing is the G27 really much of an improvement over the DFGT? i dont just mean the pedals i mean the actual wheel as well, any help is useful thankyou.

note - i am not just playing GT5, i have started playing PC sim games as well (e.g Race 07) so dont just base the opinion on gt5 but overall

I just wrote to a guy considering on buying a G27 as his first wheel, here's my splurge on that https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7631207#post7631207

I've tried racing sims with both, not that hard core into them like I am with GT5, but if the most important factor for you is the pedals, I don't really think that G27s are that much better, sure you get a clutch, and they are a little heavier, but really, if you're seriously into sim racing, I'd just go straight to the T500RS, it is, imo, no way three times the wheel for three times the price (I found 375 pounds vs. 140, T500vG27), but it is still better and will last longer, besides hopefully soon a G29 will come out next year (G25 2007, G27 2010, G29 2013?), so might be worth holding off till that as well.
