Or the company/model of your motherboard if it's an on-board sound card. (if the connectors are in the same small panel with USB/PS2/Serial/Parallel ports in the back, instead of a separated PCI Slot)

i have absolutley no idea the name of my mobo or sound card...i do know that its on board if that helps...i think its something like C-Media actually...

thanks

Take a trip to windowsupdate.com to see if it will find the correct drivers and install them.

If not, you'll have to find your motherboard driver CD that should have came with your computer. On it should be the onboard sound drivers.

If that doesn't work either, you'll need to open up your computer case, and look for the model number of your motherboard. Then, you need to go to that manufacturer's website and download the drivers from them.

thanks everyone...i fixed my sound...i used aida32 or w/e its called and found the name of the mobo then found my sound card drivers

thanks again really appreciate it

Just curious if it picks up the sound card at all.

Go to your Control Panel, then System, then Hardware.

Go to the Device Manager and see if your computer is picking up the Sound card. If not, you'll need to flash your BIOS, which will be on the website for your motherboard (if you know the company, that would simplify things, but if not, it's also in your device manager)

If it does pick up the board, see what type it is, then go to the company's site and pick up some drivers for it.

Good luck.
