In the Used Car showroom 2 they have 2 models of Alfa Romeos available. The Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24V ('98) and the Alfa Romeo 166 2.5 V6 24V ('98).

Does anyone know if they come in the Traditional Alfa Romeo red color like you see at the new ones have at thier dealership??? Because I really want to get them in that color but every time i see them there either in black or silver.

Just wondering so I can figure out if Im wasting my time or not.

Thanks.

The colours available of all Used Cars are listed in the Used Car Cycle file for your region:

PAL Region (everywhere but US, Canada, Japan, China)
NTSC Region (US, Canada)

Im sorry Famine but I seem to be having trouble finding the answer to my question even after opening that link.

Could you or somebody try and let me know what colors are available for these cars???

Off the top of my head, I've no idea what colour each of the 720+ cars comes in. However, the Excel files you can download in post 1 of each of those two links contains information on every car in the Used Car Garages - when they occur, how much they cost, 6.2 mile specials and, crucially, what colour they are.

After downloading them, it's just a case of looking through the rotations and finding out what colour the car is available in at any given week in the rotation.

Of course after finding out what colour they come in, you'll then want to know when you can buy them in that colour and you'll have the Excel file that tells you.

Hi, yes they're available in Rosso Alfa. I have them both in the Alfa Romeo traditional red. Sorry, but I can't help with days they appear. :indiff:

Thats the problem though. I did download it but when I tried to open it it wouldnt work.

So is it possible someone can take a look at it for me and tell me which days they appear in the Alfa Romeo Red??

What did you try to open it with? They're *.zip files - requiring unzipping - which decompress into *.xls files - requiring Microsoft Excel.

WindowsXP should be able to cope with unzipping (or you can use WinZip which is a free download) and there are free Excel viewers for download too.

You haven't told us which version you're using - the list differs between Japanese NTSC, US/Canada NTSC and PAL versions.

Also, if you follow the instructions above, you'll never need to ask this type of question ever again - saving you hours of future fruitless searcing. 👍

Thats the link I cant get to work azevedojose. I just get a bunch of wierd writing when i try to open it.

Famine I dont know how to do any of that stuff you mentioned. Sorry Im not very computer smart.

Im guessing the version I have is the NTSC one because I got the game here in the US.

I just got the Alfa 156 in the red I want so now I just need to know when the 166 one is coming, if anyone could tell me that it would be very helpful.

Sorry for all the trouble guys.

Hi Eric

When you say you don't know how to do any of the operations Famine mentioned I think you're doing yourself a desservice. Getting on-line and posting requires much of the same 'computer literacy'.

The important questions are:

Do you have Winzip installed on your PC (or are you running Windows XP operating system)?

Do you have EXCEL installed on your PC (or any spreadsheet/accounting package)?

If the answer to both of these is "Yes" then you can easily do this.

Follow the link Famine posted and download the file (which I think you've already done). If you double-click on the zip file, what package does it open into?

As you're currently seeing gibberish, my guess would be that the file is being decompressed and then opened in something like Notepad.

If you have not got EXCEL installed then folow Famine's link to an EXCEL file viewer. Get that down and installed (if necessary) and then right click on the car list file name and select Open With rather than just Open. Scroll down the list of applications until you see the name of the EXCEL file viewer. Select that and you should be off :D.

Best of luck 👍.

Yes I have Windows XP and Microsoft Excel.

When I download the Used car list it downloads it into a program I have called WinRAR. When I right click on it thorugh that program I dont get the option "Open With" so now I dont know what to do.

Ah, okay, WinRar is just another decompression program. In the WinRar window, do you see the filename of the Used Car List? It'll be something like:

"Used Car List Filter v2.0.xls"

If you do then simply double clicking on that should cause it to open in EXCEL. If you don't see it but rather see:

"NTSC Used Car List Filter v2.0.zip"

Then that's the WinRar zip file. Double click that and it should open another window in which you'll see the .xls file. Double click that and you're away :D.

If this doesn't work, then get WinRar to extract the file to your harddisk, go to it in Explorer and double click there.

That should be it.

Give it a go and I'll leave this thread open on my desktop so you can shout if you need help.
